Teaching & Learning
at Berwick College
It’s fantastic to see students actively engaging with their lesson plans, both in and out of the classroom. These plans are valuable tools to support their learning, helping them study at home and stay on top of classroom expectations. Parents can also use these plans to spark conversations about school, making staying connected with their teenager’s learning easier, especially when responses about their day are less than forthcoming!
Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)
Students may also notice staff members visiting their classrooms for short observations as part of our Professional Learning Communities. These visits, which last around 10 to 15 minutes, help teachers collaborate and refine their practice. Staff are currently focusing on our instructional model's 'Engage' and 'Guide' stages, trialling evidence-based strategies to enhance learning. By observing one another, teachers can share effective techniques, strengthen classroom consistency and continuously improve the learning experience for all students.
We appreciate the support of our school community as we work together to create the best possible learning environment at Berwick College.
