During Term 2, Karen Crawley will speak with the cohort during Home Group and discuss how the application process in 2025 works for 2026 career post-secondary pathways. This includes university, TAFE, apprenticeships, police force, defence force and any other identified pathways. During Terms 1 and 2 it is time to start planning for life after school in readiness for Term 3 when application support is provided.

Year 9 2025 – Careers Session and Morrisby Profiling
All year 9 students, as a whole cohort, will create their own Morrisby Career Profile on Thursday, 27th March. The students will be complete this profile over three periods (1 to 3) in one of the larger spaces at school. During this session, students will be able to build their own profile based on their strengths and ambitions completing a range of multiple-choice questionnaires which result in offering a detailed insight into each child’s inner strengths, abilities and career preferences. This profile is then a Careers tool that students will utilise throughout their senior schooling years. Please watch this space (and Compass) for more information about the Year 9 Morrisby Profiling Event which is strongly recommended by Berwick College and the Department of Education (who fund each year 9 student so they can access this program). In addition, all year 9 students will complete a Career Action Plan – I Focus to support their findings from the Morrisby Profile and create career goals and a plan.
Year 8 – Careers Sessions
Year 8 Careers counselling sessions have just commenced. Students are completing a Career Action Plan – I Explore in a class setting with Mrs Duhau. They begin by developing a profile of themselves, exploring their interests, values and skills. Students investigate learning styles and identify what makes learning easier for them. Students then reflect on their year 7 Career Action Plan identifying last year’s goals and achievements. Thereafter, each child sets new goals and a plan for year 8 and begin to identify careers related to their interests and skills using the 'My Future' website.
Years 7– Careers Sessions
Year 7 Careers counselling sessions (developing a Career Action Plan – I Discover) will commence during Term 2. Please watch this space for further information.
