Interhouse Cross Country Championships
'Bring Your House Spirit!'
The annual Years 7 to 12 Interhouse Cross Country Championships will take place on Tuesday 25 March at Shaw Park, Wooloowin. This is the second Interhouse event of the year, providing an opportunity for students to earn points towards the coveted 2025 Champion House.
The event will also serve as a selection trial for the QGSSSA Cross Country team and for students aiming to compete at the Metropolitan North Cross Country trials.

Date: Tuesday 25 March
Time: 8:30am to 12:00pm
Venue: Shaw Park, Wooloowin
Age Groups: Students compete according to their year of birth (not year level).
- 12 years (born 2013)
- 13 years (born 2012)
- 14 years (born 2011)
- 15 years (born 2010)
- 16 years (born 2009)
- 17 to 18 years and Open (born 2008 and 2007)

Attendance and Spectators: All Years 7 to 12 students are expected to attend the event. If your child is unable to participate, please follow the usual procedure for reporting student absences.
Parents and caregivers are welcome to attend and support.
Transport Information
Departure: 8:40am (all students)
- Students must meet their House Leader in their House area by 8:20am.
- They will proceed to the designated buses under House staff direction.
Return to School: 12:00pm

QGSSSA Artistic Gymnastics Championships
Our gymnasts are ready to defend their stellar 2024 performances as we host the highly anticipated QGSSSA Artistic Gymnastics Championships at the PE Centre on Tuesday 1 April. With skill, precision, and determination, they will take to the floor, bars, beam, and vault, aiming to set the standard once again in this prestigious competition. The stage is set for an exhilarating display of strength and artistry, get ready to witness our gymnasts in action.
QGSSSA Autumn Fixtures
Basketball kicked off with two exciting games against Somerville House. In a thrilling start to the Queensland Girls' Secondary Schools Sports Association (QGSSSA) Autumn fixtures, our Basketball teams showcased their determination at Somerville House.
Basketball
The courts came alive with intensity as our Clayfield teams set the tone for the season ahead in the 10A and 8B competitions. Every pass, every play, and every shot counted as our athletes showcased their skill and determination. The CC 10A team delivered a commanding performance, storming to a dominant 100-0 victory in their season opener. Meanwhile, the 8B team found their rhythm early, overpowering Somerville House 46-4. With such a strong start, our teams are ready to build on this momentum and make their mark this season.
With high stakes and fierce competition, the QGSSSA Autumn fixtures are set to bring an action-packed season of intense sporting battles. Get ready as we charge into Round 2 against Moreton Bay College - it's game time.
BBI Club Basketball
The BBI Club basketball program wrapped up a triumphant summer season, securing thrilling victories against tough competition. Under the expert guidance of coaches Mitch Hayward and Brodie Meis, our teams have made significant strides, sharpened their skills, and gained invaluable experience. More importantly, our boys have shown exceptional character - displaying humility in victory, unwavering support for their teammates, and the kind of sportsmanship that truly sets them apart. Their respect for the game, their coaches, and their opponents has been a standout feature of the season, making us incredibly proud.
Now, the focus shifts to the upcoming Winter season, with the program welcoming boys in Years 5 to 9. For more details, check the College App.

Andrews Cup Swimmers Make Waves, Bringing Home the Percentage Cup
The Andrews Cup Swimming team made a powerful statement at this year’s Andrews Cup Swimming Competition, delivering a series of impressive performances that highlighted their skill, resilience, and competitive spirit. From the opening event to the final relay, our athletes embraced the challenge, racing with purpose against a high-calibre field.
The hard work and refinement of technique throughout the season were evident in the water, as each swimmer put forward their best effort on race day. Every age group either maintained or improved their standings from last year, with a standout performance from the 11 Years team, who secured 3rd place and proudly claimed a pennant.
In a thrilling team effort, Clayfield climbed three spots in the overall standings, finishing in 5th place - an outstanding achievement with a remarkable 222-point increase from last year’s campaign.

The team’s exceptional efforts in both individual and relay events contributed to Clayfield claiming the Percentage Cup, a testament to the depth and consistency of performances across all age groups.
A huge thank you to Mr Cameron Keith and Ms Clare Cattanach for their coaching, and to Miss Amy Lewin for her coordination and communication throughout the season. Their dedication and support have been instrumental in the team’s success. With such a strong foundation set this season, the team is poised for even greater achievements in the years ahead.
Date Change for Interhouse Cross Country Carnival
Please note that the Primary Interhouse Cross Country Carnival has been rescheduled to Wednesday 30 April due to a scheduling conflict at Shaw Park on the original date, Wednesday 2 April.
Further details regarding the updated schedule will be provided closer to the event. We look forward to an exciting and competitive carnival to start the new term.
