Clayfield on Tour

On Sunday evening, I will depart for our first Clayfield on Tour trip for the year to Taiwan and Hong Kong with our Director of Marketing, Communications and Engagement, Emma Dixon, and I will return on Thursday 3 April. I look forward to catching up with our Hong Kong parents on Saturday 29 March during the evening.

In my absence please contact Tina Mills, our Assistant Head of Boarding on 0409 582 480 or tmills@clayfield.qld.edu.au.

Post-Cyclone

We are incredibly proud of our boarders who remained in-house during Tropical Cyclone Alfred. They showed great resilience, staying calm and keeping themselves entertained with a variety of activities, including arts and crafts and board games, until it was safe to go outside again.

The Boarding House withstood the strong winds and heavy rain well, with only minor water damage sustained in the Rec Room and Storeroom. Repairs are currently underway, and boarders will be able to store their crates back in the Storeroom before departing at the end of the term. We have also reminded students that the Storeroom has capacity for one crate and one suitcase per student.

Exam Block Update

Our Year 7 and 9 students have successfully completed NAPLAN for another year. Well done to all for their dedication and preparation!

Across the Boarding House, students are busy with assessments, assignments, and exam preparation. This week, our Year 10 and 11 boarders are in-house for their block exams until Monday. Next week, our Year 12 students will join them as they commence their exam period. We wish all our students the very best in their studies and assessments. Keep up the hard work.

Friends of Boarder Parent Group Meeting

We were delighted to host our first Friends of Boarders Parent Group meeting on Wednesday evening and connect with our wonderful boarding parents and carers.

A heartfelt thank you to our Friends of Boarders Parent Group Coordinator, Kylee Easton, for chairing the meeting and for her ongoing support of our boarding community. We look forward to many more valuable discussions throughout the year.

Events

On Monday night, Ashburn House hosted their first event of the year which was a vibrant St Patrick’s Day-themed dinner. The dining room was transformed into a sea of green as students came together to celebrate with great food, fun, and House spirit!

On Sunday 30 March, our Boarding House will once again take the field in the Junior (Year 7 to 9) and Senior (Year 10 to 12) divisions of the Boarding Schools Inter-School Touch Competition at Marist Ashgrove.

This all-day event is a fantastic opportunity for our boarders to showcase their teamwork, sportsmanship, and Clayfield spirit. All boarders are expected to attend unless on approved leave.

We all can't wait for a day of competition and good luck to all our teams!
