Netball Under 15's Knockout Team

Beverly Hill Girls Under 15’s netball team versed Woolooware High on our school grounds. Despite the tough weather conditions, rain and wet court, the team soldiered on to play competitively and in good spirits. We had strong defence positions, constantly intercepting the ball, which awarded Gold Defence Malentina M player of the match, alongside Goalkeeper, Deborah O and Wing Defence Irene G providing support in their positions. The attacking positions Wing Attack Aiesha S, Zahraa B and Baneen K effortlessly passed the ball accurately down the court for Roop K and Mariam I as Goal Attack and Goal Shooter to gain goals at the hoop and score some important points. The Centre positions Laila M, Aiesha S and Harkiran K substituting demonstrated their athleticism and fitness around the court and gaining possession of the ball. Despite the team’s loss, they played with great sportsmanship and never gave up. We are also thankyou Ashley A for her fabulous umpiring and ensuring the girls were well prepared for the match. Well done team!

Volleyball Knockout Team

In the knockout volleyball competition, our team led by Megan in Year 11, played Strathfield Girls High School last Thursday. After many early morning trainings and a strong win last term against Blakehurst High, the team were optimistic about their chances in the Round of 16 match. After a tight loss in the first set by just three points, the team rebounded in the second set with a dominant 12-point lead, sending the match into a deciding set with momentum on their side. Unfortunately, despite strong serves from Nora, dives all over the court from Megan, and deceptive hits from Ayah and Jasmine, the team lost the deciding set by three points. The whole team should be incredibly proud of their efforts and commitment over the last term, and they played as excellent representatives of our school. Congratulations!

U14 State Team Championship

The U14 State Team Championship took place in Newcastle over the weekend of 31 May and 1 June. Freya demonstrated incredible resilience and determination during her matches. Her team advanced to the finals and narrowly missed victory, losing by a single match point. Despite this, her group was considered the overall top performer in many aspects. However, the officials ultimately awarded the championship based on match points.

During the final match, Freya experienced a slight setback but pushed through and finished the tournament with determination and strength.

Congratulations to Freya and her team.
