We’re excited to be able to offer this opportunity to our students, in partnership with UTS which will help them achieve success, not only in their HSC but into the future.
UNSW Gateway Program
On Friday 28 March, Beverly Hills Girls’ High School Year 11 students participated in the UNSW Gateway Leaders Program. The day began with a leadership workshop run by UNSW Gateway University Ambassadors called “Who am I as a leader?” Students explored individual values, purpose and passions for social impact and explored the kind of leader they want to become.
The second workshop was run by the incredible Jo O’Reilly who asked our students “How do we communicate with purpose?”. Jo is an accomplished professional speaker, former comedian and has worked extensively with UNSW and the AGSM to develop leadership skills and potential in all kinds of people. Jo’s workshop is a practical and inspiring workshop that explored what it means to have a leadership presence that aligns with your values and purpose. Students were reminded that leaders do not always have to have the loudest voice and that we all have leadership potential.
Beverly Hills Girls’ High School is a UNSW Gateway partner school. For more information about the opportunities and academic support that are offered to students of UNSW Gateway partner schools, visit their website here: UNSW GATEWAY
Additionally, Year 11 & 12 students had an incursion where ambassadors from UNSW attended BHGHS to discuss opportunities and the GATEWAY program.

Work Experience
Work Experience - Year 10 2025
In 2025, Year 10 students will have the opportunity to participate in one/two week(s) of Work Experience. This program is a part of secondary schooling and integral to the Career Education Program at this school. The aim of the program is for students to gain first-hand experience in a work situation and develop an understanding of the process involved in choosing a career.
We would appreciate your assistance in encouraging your daughter to participate in this worthwhile program. Students who leave work experience organisation to the last minute, often miss out of their desired career choice.
All placements and paperwork for Work Experience are to be finalised 3 weeks before the date of any work experience.
The following weeks have been set aside for any student wishing to do work experience, this year dates will be flexible, and students can negotiate with the Careers Adviser and their teacher to go on work experience for the week. If these dates are not suitable with employers, students can discuss this with the Careers
Advisor.

BEVERLY HILLS GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL CAREERS EXPO
We’re excited to announce after a successful few years, we will be holding a CAREERS EXPO at Beverly Hills Girls High School on Tuesday 17th June 2025. To support our already extensive Careers Program, various exhibitors will be attending to allow students to gain a deeper understanding and explore the myriad of options leading to their future careers.
YEAR 10 SUBJECT SELECTION
Year 10 will soon be making some important decisions regarding their senior study choices. It is always a daunting time for most students trying to figure out what they should choose to study in Year 11 & 12.
To have the best opportunity at success, it is important for students to harness their strengths and find what they enjoy; a combination of these is more likely to lead to not only success, but better engagement in the senior years. Sometimes, students will need to have studied a particular course/subject in order to meet pre-requisite requirements to be eligible for specific courses, though, this is rarely the case.
Throughout the end of Term 2 and following into Term 3, Year 10 students will be involved in a myriad of programs, including: workshops, subject information sessions, subject selection program, mentoring interviews and much more.
To facilitate this and provide the students and their parents with extensive information, we will be holding our Subject Selection information day/night on Monday 28th July 2025 - parent attendance is encouraged.
FUTURE FOCUS @ USYD
