UNSW Excursion

During our visit to the Sydney Museum of Human Disease, we were first given a booklet on heredity and genetic change, which we were expected to complete throughout the excursion. We began with a presentation about individuals who passed away due to non-infectious diseases and donated their organs to be preserved for educational and public awareness purposes. We were then shown real samples of these preserved diseased human tissue before exploring the museum itself. Inside, we moved from station to station, each clearly labelled with topics like “Station 1: Inheritance” and “Station 2: Mutations” …Each station included informative posters and activities that helped us answer the questions in our booklet. Overall, the experience was both educational and interactive and gave us a deeper understanding of genetics and diseases.
