Jobs for Girls
In week 4 our Jobs for Girls students participated in a 'How to be a Cop' Q&A with Ms. Giltinan & Youth Engagement Officers from the NSW Police Force Youth Command, Brooke Johnson and Maree Crawford. Well done to all our girls who participated with enthusiasm and true grit.
Students learned how to develop skills to prepare for the grip strength and vertical jump tests for the NSW Police Force. Students learned the need to focus on developing strength in their grip and jumping ability. The grip test requires squeezing a dynamometer with a minimum of 30kg of force in each hand, while the vertical jump test requires reaching a specific height when jumping from a crouched position. When Senior Constable Brooke Johnson gave our students the signal to 'Jump' during the jump test, BHGHS students showed agility and strength in reaching their goals. Congratulations to our students who participated and to those who almost outperformed Senior Constable Brooke Johnson in completing 25 push-ups.
