Hats

Hats are still very important for children to be able to play in the playground at recess and lunchtime in Term 1. If you are able to work with your child to help them locate their hat at home, and keep it in their school bag to bring each day, this helps them to improve their sense of responsibility and personal ownership of their items.

Library Bags

We are encouraging students to also be responsible for their own library books and bags and bring them to school on their library days.

The Library days for the Grade 1 classes are:

1CQ - Monday

1NL – Wednesday

1MF – Friday

1NF – Friday

Harmony Day

Harmony Day is being celebrated Thursday 20th March. The day will include a special assembly starting at 9:10am in the Stadium at which the students are invited to dress up in clothes from either their own or another culture. Alternatively, students can also choose to wear ORANGE, which is the colour chosen to represent Harmony Week.

The students will also participate in some Harmony Day activities, including making a "Harmony Day Mosaic."

Colour Run

We are holding our annual Colour Run this term on Friday 21st March. This event has been run for the past couple of years and has become a much-loved part of the school calendar. As well as being a fabulous day of colour and fun for students and staff, it is our major fundraiser for the year.

This year, we are hoping to raise funds to install a semi-permanent space outside the Stadium to be used as a 'sensory pod'. We envisage this being a small room/class space to be used by students requiring additional support and intervention, allied health sessions and time with the Learning Inclusion and Support Team. As a school funded project, we predict that this will cost around $50,000 and we would love to be able to use some school raised funds to make it happen.
