Dear Parents and Families,

Wow! It’s hard to believe we are at the end of week 7 already. The students have settled well into their classroom routines and there has been a lot of fun and interesting learning happening! We have lots more exciting activities organised for the next few weeks of Term. Please read below for further details.

Important Dates:

  • Monday 17th March - Whole School Assembly (Foundation students 1st assembly)
  • Thursday 20th March - Harmony Day
  • Friday 21st March - Colour Run
  • Monday 24th and Tuesday 25th - Parent Teacher Interviews
  • Monday 31st March – F-2 Assembly

Harmony Day:

On Thursday 20th March 2025 we will be celebrating Harmony Day. On this day, we invite students to dress in clothes from either their own, or another culture. They might choose to wear orange, which is the colour chosen to represent Harmony Week.

Whilst we won’t be sharing food, students will also have the opportunity to bring some food to school in their lunchbox from their culture. Students will be given the opportunity to share details of the cuisine they brought in and answer any questions their peers may have. Students might also like to include a recipe to share with their class.

Colour Run:

We are so excited to announce that we are holding our annual Colour Run this term on Friday March 21. This event has been run for the past couple of years and has become a much-loved part of the school calendar. As well as being a fabulous day of colour and fun for students and staff, it is our major fundraiser for the year.

This year, we are hoping to raise funds to install a semi-permanent space outside the Stadium to be used as a 'sensory pod'. We envisage this being a small room/class space to be used by students requiring additional support and intervention, allied health sessions and time with the Learning Inclusion and Support Team. As a school funded project, we predict that this will cost around $50,000 and we would love to be able to use some school raised funds to make it happen.

Details of how you can get involved in fundraising are below!

Simply go to www.myprofilepage.com.au and click onto the register button to create a cybersafe, online profile page. Raise $10 to receive your first incentive prize or send your donations to one of the great causes on offer!

Timely Pickup of Students:

We kindly ask that all parents and guardians pick up their child promptly at 3:30 PM. Timely pickup is greatly appreciated as it helps us maintain an efficient end to the school day.

If you anticipate being late, please notify your child’s classroom teacher via email or contact the office to inform us of the delay. While we maintain a duty of care until 3:45 PM, any students who have not been picked up by this time will need to wait at the office. Alternatively, students can be enrolled in our After School Care (OSHC) program, which is a paid service.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

Student Absences:

If students are going to be absent from school, either from being sick or on a family holiday for example, please notify your child's teacher via email and add their absences to COMPASS in a timely manner. Thank you.

Parent/Teacher Interviews

Please make a note on your calendar. The parent/teacher interviews are being held on:

  • Monday 24th March 2025 from 3:45pm
  • Tuesday 25th March 2025 from 3:45pm

To book you will need to access COMPASS. This process will be open from Monday 17th March from 9am to Friday 21st March, closing at 5pm.

A reminder will be sent out via COMPASS when the booking process opens. If you cannot attend these days, please contact your child's classroom teacher.

Highlights from this week:

Buddies:

This week, the Foundation students met the Year 6 students as part of the Buddy program. The students coloured in mindfulness pictures together and read some picture story books, whilst also talking about all of the similarities and differences between them. The teachers noticed how kind and caring the Year 6 students were towards the younger students. We are looking forward to now pairing the students carefully together and enjoying more activities later in the term.
