Ride2School Day
A shout out to Jack and Eileen for their efforts in organising our Ride2School Day last week, and to everyone who got on board! There was a vibrant, carnival atmosphere on the oval as each year level proudly showed off their decorated bikes and scooters to an eclectic playlist ranging from Queen to Sia to Daisy Bell.
The intention of the day was to promote active transport to school, and we set a target of 200 students riding/ scooting/ walking to school on the day. We were delighted to achieve a final count of 240! Eccezionale!
Resource Smart Schools
We proudly hosted the Resource Smart Schools Teacher Workshop day this week, facilitated by the wonderful staff at CERES. Thank you to our Sustainability Coordinator, Maddison, for bringing the day together. Teachers took part in a range of activities, and heard from guest speakers including Chris Vella from Zoos Victoria. Our Environment Action Team students led tours for our guests, showcasing all the impressive achievements our students have made in this space, including our bee hotels, compost and worm farms, bird boxes and native planting.
To support us in our commitment to being an exemplary Resource Smart School, please chat with your child about bringing a waste-free lunch to school and remind them to bring their litter home with them for correct disposal.
Building works update
We’ve had big diggers, little diggers, non-invasive excavators, jackhammers and concrete saws galore as work continues on our drainage upgrades. All things going to plan, we expect to return from the holiday break to find both junior courts out of action for resurfacing. This should take two weeks or so. Alternative line-up arrangements will be shared via Newsfeed a bit closer to the time. Preparation has been done for the internal painting, ready for the holidays. Thank you for your patience. We’re nearly there!
Vi auguro buone vacanze!
