Fete

Thanks to the incredible support of our families, staff and wider community, our school fete raised a significant profit that will go directly back into enhancing programs, resources and facilities for our students.

A very special thank you goes to the many local businesses, families, and community members who generously donated items and experiences for our Silent Auction. The variety and quality of donations played a major role in the success of the auction and helped generate strong interest and bidding on the day. Your generosity is deeply appreciated and makes a meaningful difference to our school.

A full outline of the funds raised and businesses who donated to our silent auction is outlined on the Fundraising page in this newsletter.

Cross Country

Our school Cross Country Carnival this morning was a demonstration of participation, effort and House spirit. Students demonstrated outstanding perseverance and enthusiasm as they took on the course, with many challenging themselves to achieve personal bests and support their peers throughout the event.

Congratulations to all students who took part, whether in a participation or competitive capacity. It was wonderful to see students representing their Houses with pride and encouraging peers across all year levels.

A special congratulations goes to the students who finished in the top eight of their age group and gender. These students will progress to represent the school at the District Cross Country event later this term. We wish them every success as they continue to build on their achievements.

Thank you to staff, families and volunteers who attended to cheer on our students and support the smooth running of the event.

Lunchtime Clubs

Term 2 lunchtime clubs will commence next week and offer students a wide range of activities to participate in across the term. These clubs provide a great opportunity for students to connect with peers of all ages, explore new interests and participate in semi structured activities during break times.

A schedule of available clubs is included on the School Community News page in this newsletter for your reference. We encourage families to take some time to discuss the options with their child and support them in choosing clubs they may be interested in attending.

Regular announcements will also be made at each break to remind students of the clubs running on specific days.

Term 2 AEU Campaign Actions

The Australian Education Union (AEU) is continuing with campaign actions, with further stop work action planned for this term.

This tranche of stop work will involve members from schools in the same geographic area stopping work for half a day. For us, this will take place on Wednesday 20 May.

Depending on the number of teaching staff participating in the stop work action, this may impact specific grades or the operation of the whole school.  Further information will be provided to parents/carers in the coming weeks.

Balls on the Roof

From time to time, balls inevitably end up on the roof of buildings within the school. To ensure balls can be returned to their owners, please ensure they are clearly labelled with your child’s name.

While it can be upsetting for students to not have their ball returned immediately, this task can only be undertaken by authorised personnel.  For safety reasons, under no circumstances are parents/carers or students permitted to get on the roof to retrieve a ball.

Warm wishes,

Emma Heywood
