This Week At OOPS

This term, our Year 1 and 2 students have been busy planting seeds as part of their Inquiry unit on living and non-living things. Through hands-on learning, they are discovering what living things need to survive and thrive. Students will track the growth of their plants over the term, observing changes and recording what helps their seeds grow best. This fun project helps them explore the difference between living and non-living things in a fun and meaningful way.
The Year 5 and 6 students have selected their sport for the Term 3 Round Robin. We will train in these sports and then compete against other schools in our district on Friday, 12th September. The sports are basketball, kanga cricket, volleyball and tennis.
This week in Prep, we learnt about Australian animals and the outback, read and wrote words with 4 sounds, and learnt different strategies to subtract numbers. Our Discovery prompts were:
English: What CVCC or CCVC words can you type on the keyboard?
Maths: How can you use the play dough to help solve these subtraction problems?
Collage: What features do these Australian animals have?
Construction: What does an outback habitat look like?
Dramatic Play: What do these Australian animals do?
Fine Motor: Can you put the spikes on the echidna?
