Principal Address

Dear Parents,
I hope you have had a blessed week!
Sustainability Day
What an amazing Sustainability Day we had yesterday! A huge shout-out to Mia, Gianna and Naiya for their incredible effort in organising such fun and creative activities and for their initiative in the idea. It was so encouraging to see so many students come prepared with waste-free lunches, there was hardly any rubbish around the playground! Thank you also to all of you for getting around and supporting the idea. We raised around $700, which will go towards new recycling bins! There are photos of this day in the school news section of the newsletter.
Term 4 Dates
Please take a look at the calendar for all the important Term 4 dates. A couple of big ones: our Presentation Day will be on Thursday 4th December at 9:00am this year, rather than in the evening. It’s always such a special event where we celebrate the achievements of our students and a great year. There are also the K Graduation, Year 6 Graduation, Year 6 Dinner and a bunch of other fun and exciting things as well. Please familiarise yourself with the dates.
Basketball Success
Congratulations to our 5/6 basketballers who represented the school so well at the recent CSSA competition on Monday. I still can’t believe our girls team made it all the way to the final, the first time in my memory that one of our teams has reached a final in a non-divisionalised competition! What an outstanding effort and achievement.
Sports Sponsorship Opportunity
While I was at basketball on Monday, I couldn’t help but notice that some of our sports uniforms are starting to look a little shabby. We’d love to update our sports uniforms so our students can represent the school with pride. If you, or someone you know, owns a small business and would be interested in sponsoring new sports shirts, we’d be glad to acknowledge the support with your business name displayed on the uniform. If this is something you’d like to discuss, please get in touch with the office and I can provide some options.
Looking Back on the Term
As we wrap up Term 3, I just want to pause and thank our community for your continued support and trust. Also to acknowledge God for His goodness to our school community. We’ve seen His hand at work in classrooms full of learning, in events that have brought us together in joy, and in the way our students have grown in both knowledge and character.
For those of you able to have some time off, I pray it is refreshing and you get to spend some time with your family. For those of you continuing to work, I hope and pray that there is an ease to your schedule and there might be an opportunity for a more relaxed day or two.
My door is always open,
Mr Joe Britton
