CC Sport Event Sign-On Process

Important Reminder (Primary and Secondary)

To ensure the safety and correct record-keeping of all students attending sporting events, it is essential that parents complete the sign-on process via Parent Lounge. This allows us to maintain up-to-date rolls and access important information.

When signing your child on for a sporting program or event, please ensure the following steps are completed:

  • Accept the event sign-on via Parent Lounge
  • Complete the transportation form when event information is released.

If there are any changes to your child’s transport arrangements, please notify the appropriate sports coordinator via email as soon as possible.

Following the event, all students must be signed out with the nominated supervising staff member/s before departing the venue.

We appreciate your support in helping us maintain a smooth and safe event experience for all students.

QGSSSA and Club Sport

As we continue the Winter Fixtures season, we remind all student-athletes of the expectations surrounding attendance, conduct, and uniform standards.

All students selected for a Club or QGSSSA representative team are required to attend training sessions and scheduled fixtures. If a student is unable to attend for a legitimate reason, it is essential that this is communicated to both the relevant Sport Coordinator and the CC Sport Department as early as possible.

To excel as a student-athlete at Clayfield College is to uphold the values of our community both on and off the field. Students are expected to take pride in their personal appearance, behaviour, and uniform at all times, as they are representing the College.

Uniform Expectations

Students must arrive and depart in the full Clayfield College Sports Uniform, appropriate to their sport.

For cooler weather, the following additional uniform items are permitted:

  • Clayfield College Tracksuit
  • Clayfield College ‘NEW’ Green hoodie or multi-sport quarter zip.

Please note:

  • No non-uniform items (including plain jackets, hoodies, senior jerseys, or boarders’ jumpers) are permitted.
  • Footwear: Birkenstocks, Crocs and slides are not to be worn.
  • Jewellery: College jewellery regulations must be followed at all times.

Highlights

Leading from the Front: Reese Orcher making her mark in Sport and beyond

Year 12 student and Clayfield College Sports Captain, Reese Orcher, is no stranger to high achievement. But in recent weeks, she’s taken her sporting and leadership journey to another level proving that talent, determination, and cultural pride can go hand in hand.

Fresh from leading her team to the Grand Final at the Confraternity Carnival, Reese’s performance earned her a coveted place in the Carnival’s Merit Team an honour reserved for the most outstanding players in schoolgirl rugby league. Just days later, she continued to impress on the national stage, named in the Australian Schools Rugby 7s Merit Team after a standout campaign on the Gold Coast.

Beyond her dominance on the field, Reese continues to be a trailblazer off it. She was recently announced as an ambassador for the AIS Share a Yarn program, an Australian-first initiative connecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander athletes with current and former Olympians. As part of the program, Reese will work alongside other elite athletes and mentors to strengthen cultural understanding and build deeper ties between high-performance sport and First Nations communities.

As a Queensland Academy of Sport supported athlete, she continues to balance elite training with school commitments and leadership responsibilities at Clayfield.

Reese’s appointment to Share a Yarn is more than just personal recognition; it represents a broader movement in Australian sport a commitment to #WinWell, where success is not just measured in medals, but in the connections and contributions athletes make to their communities.

With her sights set on a future in elite rugby and her heart anchored in culture and leadership, Reese Orcher is not just representing her school, she’s inspiring a generation.

Mia Geere: Clayfield College Sports Captain Turning Heads in Queensland AFL Colours

With power, poise, and a natural instinct for the game, Clayfield College Sports Captain Mia Geere is proving herself as one of the brightest young prospects in Queensland AFL.

Named in Queensland’s Under 18 Girls team for the National Championships, Mia’s recent performances in the maroon jumper have confirmed what many already knew: she’s one to watch. A proud product of Wilston Grange and the Brisbane Lions Academy, Mia is a dynamic midfielder-forward who brings creativity, composure, and serious impact across all four quarters.

In her most recent outings, Mia has lit up the field. Racking up 16–17 disposals per game, she’s combined clean marking with explosive clearance work and scoreboard pressure. Whether delivering a booming 40m goal on the run, launching deep inside 50, or rising for a soaring contested grab, Mia’s influence has been undeniable.

At just 170cm, she plays well above her height backing into packs, taking on defenders, and creating momentum through the corridor. Her effort late in the game against South Australia, including a tough hip-and-shoulder and crucial centre clearance, showcased both her physicality and leadership under pressure.

Beyond the stat sheet, Mia’s energy and confidence continue to grow; qualities that have made her a cornerstone of the Lions Academy and a respected leader in our sporting community.

As one half of Clayfield’s Year 12 Sports Captain duo, Mia is letting her light shine, leading by example on and off the field, and inspiring younger students to chase their sporting dreams.

Primary Athletes Step Up at Bowden Park for the annual Interhouse Athletics Carnival

On Thursday 31 July, Bowden Park transformed into a vibrant arena of competition as Years 2 to 6 students gathered for the annual Primary Interhouse Athletics Carnival. What unfolded from the opening gun was more than a schedule of events. It was a celebration of young athletes stepping up with energy, determination, pride and purpose.

One of the day’s standout moments was the debut of the 800m race. A newly introduced event that tested the entrant’s stamina. With supporters cheering from the sidelines, competitors tackled the distance with determination, setting the tone for what would be a full program of running, jumping, and throwing.

Across the field, performances reflected a healthy mix of friendly rivalry. Each result contributed towards the running house points tally, while athletes with consistently strong performances across multiple disciplines staked their claim for Age Champion recognition to be announced at the Semester 2 Sports Awards.

The Clayfield Sports Department extends its heartfelt thanks to the many staff who made the day possible and to the families who added their voices to the cheers of encouragement. Your presence and support made a memorable day even more special.
