To ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students during school excursions, it is essential that any required medication is provided in a clear and organised format. For this reason, all student medications must be supplied in pharmacy-prepared blister packs. These packs must separate medication by day and dose, and each compartment should clearly display the student's name, the name of the medication, dosage instructions, and administration times.
This approach helps ensure accurate and timely administration while maintaining consistency with a student’s prescribed treatment plan, especially in off-site settings. Medications must be accompanied by any written directions from the prescribing specialist, including specific requirements such as timing in relation to meals or any storage conditions.
This process supports a safer and more efficient approach to managing medication during overnight school excursions. Parents and guardians are asked to organise blister packs in advance through their local pharmacy and ensure all required documentation, including medical forms and specialist instructions, are submitted to the school before the departure date. Information regarding medication submission, will be shared closer to each specific trip.
We understand that the organisation of medication requires a planned consultation period and therefore this new process will begin from 2026.
Thank you for helping us ensure the continuity of care for students and allowing staff to focus on supervision and support, knowing that medication is clearly organised and ready for safe use.
Should you have any questions about this, please reach out to Mrs Audrey Fellowes: afellowes@clayfield.qld.edu.au or the Health Centre: healthcentre@clayfield.qld.edu.au

We invite grandparents to join our Pre-Prep to Year 6 students for a delightful morning of celebration.
Our Pre-Prep students recently took part in the 'Little Footprints – Beach Kindy' program at Nudgee Beach Outdoor Education centre, an enriching day of outdoor learning grounded in respect for culture and the environment. Through immersive experiences, the children explored Aboriginal perspectives and the Turrbal language, made intergenerational connections with Uncle Joe and Aunty Merle and investigated how people interact with nature.
Uncle Joe welcomed the children to Country with a traditional smoking ceremony and talked to them about how to take care of this special place. Exploring the beach was a highlight all the children spoke about on their return. They loved digging in the sand, examining leaves and seed pods and using sticks to make Gunyahs (Aboriginal huts). A guided beach walk taught the children how to show respect for Mangrove plants. Uncle Joe finished the day with storytelling. It was such a big day out, many of the Pre-Preppies slept on the bus coming home!
In Term 3, there are many wonderful lunchtime clubs available to students. Clubs and quiet spaces play an important role in supporting students’ overall wellbeing and development at school. These spaces help students explore interests, build cross-grade friendships, and develop skills like teamwork, leadership, and creativity. The ‘Shine to a Friend Club’ is on again this term, on a Monday lunchtime, in Room 61. Mrs San Miguel and students from 5S set up quiet, calming activities which allow students to take a break from the busyness of the playground and connect with like-minded students. Ignite Science, Smash Ball (Raquet ball) and Chess Club are other offerings this term, where students can meet new peers and further develop their skills. A program of the different clubs available, is displayed in all classrooms.
Our Year 6 students will embark on an exciting educational tour to Canberra from Monday 15 September to Thursday 18 September. This experience will provide them with valuable insights into Australia’s capital, including visits to key cultural and historical sites. Further information will be provided soon.
Last week, our Chapel Captains, Sophie Carmichael and Caitlin Southwell, organised and ran a variety of activities around the theme ‘Connected at Heart’ to focus on the faith and spiritual life of our College. They designed a logo and this was displayed as a large chalk mural which covered the expanse of the Chapel Courtyard.
Primary students had the opportunity to have their face painted with a Christian symbol and many of them took part in the colouring-in competition which are now displayed in the Chapel. Both Primary School Chapel Services were fortunate to have Lynton Allan, a visual artist and storyteller from Melbourne share a story about God’s faithfulness and promise to always be with us. Two Primary classes were given the chalk drawings that Lynton drew as he told the stories.
Primary and Secondary students had lots of fun getting involved in a scavenger hunt following the clues to find bible verses hidden around the campus. A few super sleuth Year 7 students proved to be the champion hunters and claimed the prize.
Several of the Senior students spent time reading bible story books to Pre-Prep to Year 2 classes which was appreciated by both these young students and the Year 12s.
In Pastoral Care groups, Secondary students wrote sentences of hope or inspiration on heart-shaped post-it notes which were put together on posters to become the 'Hearts of Hope' message wall and displayed in the LRC walkway.
In Chapel services, Secondary students wrote prayers or messages of thanks and gratitude which were threaded on to twine to become ‘prayer bunting’ around the Main Veranda bordering the Chapel Courtyard. To conclude Faith Week, Secondary students enjoyed a slice of celebration cake with a reminder to look for the good and positive things that happen each day.
Thank you to our Chapel Captains and others who volunteered to assist in running the activities for Faith Week.
You can read more about Faith Week in this week's Captains' Corner section, as well as enjoy some more images within the Photo Gallery.
Important Reminder
To ensure the safety and correct record-keeping of all students attending sporting events, it is essential that parents complete the sign-on process via Parent Lounge. This allows us to maintain up-to-date rolls and access important information.
When signing your child on for a sporting program or event, please ensure the following steps are completed:
If there are any changes to your child’s transport arrangements, please notify the appropriate sports coordinator via email as soon as possible.
Following the event, all students must be signed out with the nominated supervising staff member/s before departing the venue.
We appreciate your support in helping us maintain a smooth and safe event experience for all students.
