Last week the Clayfield College community came together to celebrate Faith Week. Our theme this year was ‘Connected at Heart’, which invited every member of our community to explore and build on the bonds that unite us in our faith and connections.
We kicked off on Monday with a heart shaped painting. Primary and Secondary students and staff were able to add their fingerprints in the centre with blue, green on yellow paint. This vibrant artwork now hangs in the Chapel, serving as a reflection of everyone who makes up our Clayfield community.
Tuesday begun with joyful face painting at Morning Tea in the Primary School, led by our Seniors. At lunch, we launched our first-ever ‘Foods of Faith’ tasting for the Secondary School. We had crackers and dip, dried fruit and pancakes, to reflect symbolic or treasured traditions in various religions, which was enjoyed by all students.
Wednesday’s activities included having Secondary students write heartfelt messages on sticky notes, which now decorate the wall near THE EDGE. During flexitime, our seniors read Bible stories to the Pre-Prep through Year 2 classes, bringing joy and connection to both the youngest and oldest members of our Clayfield community. At lunch, we held a spirited scavenger hunt in the Chapel for both Primary and Secondary students, with prizes up for grabs. Clues were derived from different Bible verses, leading students to different areas of the school including the Oval, Rose Garden and Uniform Shop.
Throughout the week there was a Primary School colouring-in competition. We had heaps of fantastic entries which now hang in the Chapel. Congratulations to the following winners:
Our Secondary students during Chapel on Monday and Thursday crafted gratitude bunting, with each flag featuring beautiful messages of thanks. Within Thursday flexitime, our Year 10 to 12s helped us bring our ‘Connected at Heart’ chalk drawing to life in the Chapel Courtyard.
Finally, on Friday we wrapped the week with cake and more face painting for the Secondary School.
We want to thank everyone who participated and helped us make this week possible!
