CONGRATULTIONS- Oliver, Lennox, and Ethan!
We are incredibly proud to share that three of our Year 6 students—Oliver, Ethan, and Lennox —have achieved remarkable success in the recent Australian Math Olympiad Competition.
Each student achieved a perfect score of 100% on their very first attempt, earning them a place at the top of the leaderboard and making them equal first-place finishers nationally—an outstanding accomplishment!
This incredible result is a testament to their dedication and to the support of our High Ability Program. This program, which has been running for the past four years, invites high-achieving students from Years 4 to 6 to engage in advanced mathematical thinking each Friday.
This was the first year Langwarrin Park Primary School entered students into the Australian Math Olympiad—and what a debut it was!
Congratulations to Oliver, Ethan, and Lennox! We are so proud of your hard work and achievement.
We also received an email from Paul Mercurio MP - State member for Hasting.
What a fantastic turnout we had for Grandparents Day at Langwarrin Park Primary School on Friday, 25th July!
Our Foundation classrooms were absolutely buzzing with excitement as students proudly shared the incredible work they’ve achieved in their first 100 days of school. It was heartwarming to see so many grandparents engaging with their grandchildren and celebrating this special milestone.
Our prep students had a fantastic day dressed in their creative “older person” costumes, bringing plenty of humour and charm to the celebrations. We hope it gave our visiting families a good laugh too! A big thank you to all families for getting involved and helping make the day so special.
A big thank you to Mrs K from our school library, who organised a beautiful initiative—book sales for visiting grandparents. These generous purchases were then donated back into our school library, each book accompanied by a heartfelt message of encouragement and love.
In a display of generosity so fitting of grandparents’ spirit, an incredible $1,395 worth of books were purchased and donated back to our school library.
Reading plays a vital role in the development of our Prep students, building their language skills, sparking imagination, and laying the foundation for lifelong learning. These generous contributions will have a lasting impact on our youngest learners—thank you to everyone who supported this initiative! We encourage families to keep an eye out for these special books as they make their way into circulation.
After the classroom visits, grandparents were welcomed into the school gym, where they enjoyed a hot drink and sweet treat, kindly hosted by our amazing PFC Committee. A huge thank you to this dedicated group for their hard work in making the event such a success.
Events like these create lifelong memories and strengthen the wonderful community spirit at LPPS. Thank you to all who attended and contributed!
Author Danielle Binks Inspires the Next Generation at LPPS!
On Monday 28th July, our Grade 5 and 6 students were treated to a very special incursion — a writing workshop with the wonderful Danielle Binks!
Danielle is a published author and an inspiring storyteller, but what made this visit extra special was that she is also a former Langwarrin Park Primary School student! Her return to LPPS was a powerful reminder to our students that big dreams can start right here in our classrooms.
During the workshop, Danielle shared her journey as a writer, offered tips on how to create compelling characters, and encouraged students to be brave with their ideas and imaginations. Our students were thoroughly engaged, asking thoughtful questions and sharing their own writing inspirations.
It was an unforgettable experience that sparked creativity and reminded us of all that great stories can come from anywhere — even Langwarrin!
Thank you, Danielle, for taking the time to visit and inspire our students. We can’t wait to see what stories they write next!
On Thursday 31st July, our Grade 5 students had the opportunity to take part in an exciting and enriching "Grade 5 Experience Day" at Elisabeth Murdoch College (EMC). The event, led by EMC educators and supported by Langwarrin Park Primary School staff, offered students a valuable insight into the routines and experiences of high school life.
Throughout the day, students participated in four engaging rotational activities, each focusing on a key area of the secondary curriculum:
These hands-on sessions were designed to be both fun and educational, sparking curiosity and giving students a real sense of what secondary school learning looks like.
Participation in the day did not require future enrolment at EMC—it was simply an opportunity for students to explore, engage, and begin thinking about their next steps in education.
We’re proud of how confidently and enthusiastically our students embraced the experience!
This week, our Grade 6 students participated in their first Body Education session with the wonderful Katie Breheny, marking the beginning of an important and informative journey in their final year of primary school.
The Body Education program is designed to support students in developing a deeper understanding of their changing bodies, respectful relationships, and personal development. Katie, a highly experienced educator in this field, creates a safe, age-appropriate, and supportive environment where students feel comfortable learning and asking questions.
This year’s curriculum will cover a range of essential topics, including:
The program is a key component of our Wellbeing and Health curriculum, helping to equip students with the knowledge and confidence they need as they transition into adolescence.
We look forward to seeing our Grade 6 students grow and engage thoughtfully throughout the sessions.
Our Principals do so much for our school—often behind the scenes, unrecognised and without thanks. Today, we wanted to take a moment to acknowledge and appreciate the incredible dedication, care and leadership they provide each and every day.
From supporting students and staff to engaging with families and the wider community, their impact is felt in every part of our school. It’s not always an easy job, but their commitment to making our school a better, safer and more inspiring place does not go unnoticed.
A huge thank you to Deb Haddow, Kym Gilchrist, Brooke McInnes and Sharna Dean Wright—we are truly grateful for everything you do.
To celebrate, we had a bit of fun decorating your offices with glitter, streamers, balloons and treats—completely showering you in chocolates and appreciation! Just a small gesture to say a big THANK YOU. We are so lucky to have such passionate and hardworking leaders guiding our school.
