Prep News

Thanks to all the parents who joined us for the Prep Term 1 info session last Tuesday. We know not everyone could make it, so here are the slides from the night for you to review at your convenience.

Your Preppies have had an eventful start to the school year with plenty of new experiences to absorb and adapt to. This week they were paired up with a Year 5 buddy as part of our school Buddy Program to help them with new school experiences.

In class Prep's have been busy learning new sounds, patterns and handwriting.

Tuck shop

On Friday, the Preps had the chance to meet Liz from the Tuck Shop and role-play lining up, choosing what to buy and how to pay for it. If your child plans to visit the Tuck Shop on Fridays, we encourage you to use the photo provided below to discuss their preferences and the coins they'll need the night before.

Year One News

Our Year One students have been focusing on the digraphs 'ch,' 'sh,' 'wh,' and 'ph'in MSL lessons this week. Additionally, they've been learning at the irregular word 'they' and orthographically mapping this word. In mathematics, the focus has been on developing a solid grasp of place value, with engaging activities centered around hundreds charts, fostering numerical fluency and problem-solving skills.

Year Two News

This week, our Two's have been exploring the 'magic e' syllable rule in their MSL lessons. They've also tackled the irregular words 'any,' 'love,' and 'anything'. In Maths, their focus has been on understanding place value, with a specific emphasis on three-digit numbers. We even got to have some time with our Year 4 buddies!

Slip - Slap - Slop

With all the hot, sunny weather we are having lately, our students are learning the importance of Sun Safety whileout on the yard. We provide sunscreen at school, but if you prefer, your child can bring their own to school.
