Year 3/4 Report

Welcome to Grade 3/4 2024! We are so excited to be working with you and your students this year!

Literacy

This term in Reading and Writing, Grade 3/4 students will be exploring persuasive texts. Students will develop an understanding of how and why persuasive texts are important in our world. Students will write persuasive texts about a variety of topics related to their lives at school and in the community.

Numeracy

In Numeracy this term, Grade 3/4 students will develop their understanding of place value concepts. These concepts will be related to money, addition, subtraction and measurement through a variety of hands on games and activities. Students will also begin a Maths Journal where they will reflect on themselves each week as maths learners. 

Inquiry

In Inquiry this Semester, students will learn about online safety. The Grade 3 students have begun to explore their laptops, practicing logging into a variety of school based apps and websites. Students will unpack what it means to be safe online with the final result being a project to help others be safe online.

Reminders

• School starts at 8:50am
• All students must bring a hat and water bottle to school
• Grade 3/4s are asked to read every night for at least 15 minutes and record this in their diaries
