2025 Semester 1 Reports

The end of Term 2 brings with it the implementation of our improved Semester Reporting layout.

Semester 1 Reports will be available to parents and carers via Compass on Friday 25th July (Week 1 Term 3). These reports have been developed and improved based on consultation with the School Council, parents, students and teaching staff over the last 24 months.

The main improvements to  Semester Reports in 2025, is the inclusion of a new ‘Homestead Learning Behaviours’ element, which has been developed to provide parents and carers with a summary of student learning behaviour across the entire semester. This was implemented in lieu of the removal of SAC feedback comments in consultation with the College community.

Additionally, the grades for each SAC/Assessment Task on the report, will now display both the percentage and the letter grade awarded to the student. Providing more comprehensive feedback of a student’s academic progress within a subject over the course of the semester.

Outlined below, are the various component of each subject page of the 2025 Semester Report layout for your reference.

  • Subject description: This is a summary of the subject, the knowledge covered and skills acquired throughout the semester.
  • Class attendance: This is a representation of how many classes have run for this subject and what percentage of those classes the student has been in attendance for. E.g if a student is absent from 1 class out of 10 for the semester that ran, the class attendance would be 90% for that subject, even if the absence was for a school approved event. It helps parents and carers to see the impact of student absence on each individual subject whether approved or unapproved.
  • Unit Outcomes: This outlines the Outcomes that must be demonstrated by the student to achieve an 'Satisfactory' pass (S) for the subject. The student must be awarded an 'S' across all Outcomes to be awarded and S for entire Semester.
  • Homestead Learning Behaviours: These learning behaviour ratings are a summary of the entire semester. Teachers will assess students in the following areas.
    • Prepared and Organised: Student has required materials and manages time effectively.
    • Engagement: Student actively participates in their learning.
    • Behaviour: Student displays the behaviours of a Homesteader, consistent with the positive behaviour matrix.
    • Feedback: Student seeks and applies feedback regarding their learning.
  • Learning Tasks: These are the assessments that have been undertaken within the subject throughout the semester. It includes a description of the task and the percentage and letter grade awarded to the student in each task.
  • Examination Grade: This is the letter grade awarded to students for their Semester 1 Examination. For Mathematics subects, two grades will exist here, as two exams will be undertaken.

A sample of the improved reporting structure is outlined below for your reference.
