Bike Shed Update

Every day Matters

Bike Shed

Dear Parents and Students,

We would like to make our community aware that there have been recent incidents involving bikes being stolen from the bike shed. While the College does have CCTV surveillance in place and has provided relevant footage to Victoria Police upon request, our aim is to prevent these thefts from occurring in the first place.

To support this, the College has installed a bolt cutter-resistant lock on the bike cage in response to reports that thieves have used bolt cutters to break individual bike locks. We strongly encourage students to use high-quality, heavy-duty locks for their own bikes.

Please be aware of the following updated procedures for the bike shed:

  • The bike shed will be locked at 9:15am each day and reopened at 3:00pm.
  • If a student needs access to the bike shed during school hours, they must go to Reception to collect the key, unlock the cage, relock it after use, and return the key promptly.
  • Students must ensure they do not ride bikes or scooters through the school when returning keys

While we will continue to support students and families by providing CCTV footage to police where available, the College, in line with DET insurance policy, is not able to take responsibility for the loss or theft of personal items brought to school, including bikes.

We thank you for your understanding and support in helping us maintain a safe and secure school environment.
