Reconciliation Week

During Reconciliation Week, Craigieburn Primary School embraced the theme of “Now More Than Ever” by engaging students in meaningful classroom learning that deepened their understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, and contributions.

Across the school, students read texts written by Indigenous authors and explored the messages and perspectives shared through these powerful stories. These sessions prompted thoughtful classroom discussions and personal reflections, as students considered the importance of truth-telling, respect, and the role we all play in creating a more equitable future.

To conclude the week, students came together at our whole-school assembly to share some of their reflections and learning. It was inspiring to hear students speak so thoughtfully about what reconciliation means to them and how the stories they read helped them understand Indigenous voices and experiences. As a school community, we continue to walk together in the spirit of reconciliation, fostering empathy, awareness, and respect in all that we do.
