A Message from Keir and Emma

“We would like to acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people, the first people to dream, create, wonder, dance, play and learn on this breathtaking land. This land was cared for and respected for tens of thousands of years. The First Nations people lived in companionship with the animals and the life on this land. We acknowledge that this is stolen land and we pay our respects to elders, past, present and emerging.”

Good-Bye to Kris

As term two winds up, the time has come to say good-bye to one of BNWPS’ favourite faces; Kris from Sprout. In her time here, Kris has been not just an amazing cook, manager and feeder of the community, she has been much much more.

Nearly everyone in the school community knows Kris, and they all have a story to tell about Kris’ kindness, compassion and enthusiasm. Kris is often the first person that new students and families connect with. Often Kris is the person who families tell their stories to, and who they reach out to if they need a little extra support or advice or direction. Kris has been there when families have needed a last minute birthday cake or a sandwich, or when lunch has been left at home on the bench and little tummies are hungry.

Kris has built up an amazing and admirable rapport with so many of the students who have been through the school in her time here. She knows their stories, their preferences and their orders, and the beautiful relationships that they all share with her are testament to the warm and authentic individual that Kris is.

Kris will be following her dreams beyond the BNWPS fences and supporting a whole new community of people who will benefit from her care, compassion and understanding.

As we make our way through the week, please make sure that you stop by Sprout; even if it is just to say a warm ‘Good-bye, and you’ll be missed’

Have a lovely holiday everyone. We hope that you all find the time to do something that fills your family bucket. We look forward to seeing everyone refreshed and ready for term three on Monday 21st July.

Stay warm!
