Messages from our Librarian - Mrs Adams
Our children in the early Stages have been borrowing from our wonderful collection of Christmas Books.
With the summer holidays are on the horizon, it’s time to think about enjoying some time with family and friends and spending some time catching up on reading. We are very lucky at St Joseph's to have a number of platforms that children will have access to over the holidays. Storybox Library has a fantastic selection of Christmas stories that explore different communities and traditions. It also has a variety of books for holidays. There are also activities that you can do with the children. All you need is a device. The App can be downloaded onto a device.

Our 2nd Platform is Sora.
Sora can be found by found by googling Sora App
Our school is under the ACEN (Australian Catholic Education Network). If you are on another device this is the website link

Children will be able to sign in with their own individual username and password that they use to access their Chrome Books at school.
Under collections, you will find Comic and Graphic novels, Humorous books, magazines, books about horses etc, adventure, mystery, etc. Please make use of this as it is provided to us by our Catholic Schools Office.
Of course, mistakes can be made and sometimes books have been returned to school. If you feel this is the case please let me know by a note. Books can also be damaged so please let me know about this as well.
This term all stages have been learning about Nonfiction and have thoroughly enjoyed learning about the world. Did you know that nonfiction books can be the key to sparking a love of reading? They are filled with fascinating facts, vibrant pictures and information which is suitable for curious children who might not enjoy traditional stories. Children can explore their own interests from trucks to sharks to sport and beyond. At our library, we have a treasure trove of nonfiction titles with new ones arriving regularly.
