Library News

The new selection of books for our expanding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander category arrived at the end of last term. This exciting collection contains resources including history, cooking, clothing, geography, traditions, and many other assorted topics related to Indigenous life.
The Junior Atlas of Indigenous Australia contains life from 60,000 years to the present time. It covers an extensive range of topics, such as deep history, art, sport, language, clothing, indigenous mapping and much more.
Another is First Nations Food Companion. This magnificent book not only gives full detailed instructions of how to incorporate native foods into our recipes, but it also contains an ingredient guide on how to use, grow and pick the native produce. A necessity in any chef’s kitchen. It is beautifully illustrated and quite easy to understand.
These are only two of the selections in the ever growing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander category. Both books are well worth a look. (Reviewed by Aunty Wanda).
Finally, the library is constantly receiving new titles for loan. We also have access to a collection of eBooks and audiobooks on the SORA app. Please look at the details below or speak to library staff about SORA.
