Decorate Your Space Competition
St Joseph's has been announced winner of the Diocese's Decorate Your Space competition as part of Child Protection Week.
St Joseph's beautifully transformed an old piano to champion the theme ‘Every Conversation Matters’. Collaborating with talented elective Visual Arts students and the guidance of Aspire artist Lara Crocket, and teacher Zoe White, the students crafted a vibrant, eye-catching piece that embodies the essence of meaningful dialogue in child protection. Students participated in a two-day workshop to execute the piano’s lively pop-art design, which reflects a commitment to fostering a nurturing environment where every conversation contributes to a child's safety and wellbeing.
This project not only revitalises an old piano but also showcases how creativity and collaboration can make a powerful statement about the importance of supportive communication. Through this innovative approach, St. Joseph’s Catholic College exemplifies the spirit of National Child Protection Week and demonstrates the impact of combining artistic expression with essential messages of care and protection.
Congratulations to our very talented Visual Arts students!
SCHOLASTIC GRAND CHAMPIONS!
On Saturday 26 October, the St Joseph’s Catholic College Elite Dance Team competed in the CHEERCON NSW Champions League ’24. They performed two routines at the competition – Lyrical (to Celine Dion’s ‘That’s The Way It Is’) and Hip Hop (featuring an original mash-up of Hip Hop classics). These two routines showcased supreme technical and expressive skills, resulting in them being awarded 1st Place in both of their categories!
Our students in the Elite Dance Team are Imogen G, Alexandra L, Alexis D, Lily M, Eden W, Adele F, McKenzie M and Ruby M.
At the final Awards Ceremony for the evening, our students were then awarded Scholastic Grand Champions – this means that our students achieved the highest scoring scholastic routine of the entire competition! Such an incredible achievement! With this, our Elite Dance Team were also awarded a partially paid bid to ‘The Finals’ in 2025.
A special thanks to Ms Amy Foster for her expert guidance of and passion for our Elite Dance Team!
