Pilgrimage
I write to you this week after returning from my pilgrimage to Europe with Ms Feddersen.
We are very grateful to have had the opportunity to walk the Camino de Santiago (The Way of St James), a spiritual journey that follows the historical route of pilgrims and dates as far back as the 9th century.
Starting in the Pyrenees Mountains of France, we walked 379kms through the countryside of Spain to end up at the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral, where the remains of the Apostle St James are located.
The Camino was a very spiritual journey which took us about 2 and a half weeks, giving us a lot of time to pray, reflect on our lives and find God all around us in the people we met, the wonders of Creation and the religious artefacts, relics and churches we encountered.
It was a life changing experience and the feeling of walking into the square at Compostela was filled with joy and a profound sense of achievement. We would highly recommend this pilgrimage, especially as it can be done by anyone for any reason. We are more than happy to share more of our journey with anyone who would like to find out more about the Camino. We hope you enjoy looking at some of the photos from our pilgrimage.
