PRINCIPAL UPDATE
TRIVIA NIGHT
Thank you to Kate, Gen, Tania, Megan, Lisa, Vicki, Brooke, and Esther for bringing the Trivia night to fruition. Events such as these are not possible without the volunteers that pull everything together from coordinating the event to sourcing donations, the hours spent behind the scenes is so greatly appreciated. We thank you for this, and congratulations on raising $14,000. What a superb achievement. Some of this went towards the drinking taps, and the rest used to purchase new readers for the students.
CAMPS
I had a fabulous time away with Grade 6 students and staff in Healesville on Camp. The students were all amazing, and it was a special time away with them. Thanks to parents, Sandra, Anna, Laura, and Victoria for volunteering their time along with Sarah N, Jared and Elise for their efforts in the organisation and coordination of this event.
Grade 4 head off next week. Although I will not head to that one, Sarah and Louisa will visit.
SCHOOL REVIEW
Our School Review commenced today, and it was great to welcome Julie Myers, Fiona Taylor, Peter Walsh, Joan O’Connor- Cox, Paul Nolan and School Council President David Meade to our School. Today we engaged in some rich conversations around student achievement in relation to academics, engagement, and wellbeing. We reviewed targets that were set in our 2020 Strategic Plan and what we have undertaken and achieved these past 4 years. Multiple teachers were observed teaching within the classroom and in specialist classes, and students engaged with the panel within this time. Staff also engaged in planned discussions with the panel.
Next week the panel returns to undertake further classroom observations and will at this time engage in structured conversations with particular student groups and parents.
We are asking for interested parents to please sign up for a discussion group if able. Please do not change already set plans or work commitments to attend, but we would love to have parent input into this, to discuss all things Chilwell which will help guide our future direction.
Please complete the Google Form below if able to attend either 9am or 3pm on Wednesday November 6th.

SHINING BLUE FOR SIDS
We are again Shining Blue for 13 years of Stamping out SIDS next Thursday, 7th November, in support of River’s Gift Foundation. Students will be requested to bring $4 in cash to school on Wednesday 6th November and will receive a temporary tattoo to bring home. As per last year, instructions will come home for parents, and we ask you to place the tattoo on the top of your child’s hand/ fist. On Thursday at recess, each child will receive a blue donut, kindly donated by Lou and Sam Casboult at SUNBAKERS Bakery in Barwon Heads. This is very generous, and we thank them for this.
Kind regards,
Meg
