Athletics Sports Day
Grade 2/3 Athletic Day poems with rhyming couplets.
We had to walk all the way,
Over the hills and far away.
Did you see how high I jumped?
But the bar I also bumped!
My vortex throw didn't win,
When I threw it, it had no spin.
So now you know about Athletics Day,
I hope you liked my poem today.

Yesterday on Thursday,
we walked up to Mayday.
Triple jump was really fun.
I was jumping in the sun.
When we were walking up to Mayday Hills,
I was getting the nervous, but excited, chills!

I can jump hurdles,
Way better than turtles.
I like to run,
Because it is fun.
Eating bowls of pasta
Makes me go faster.
I'm in Brigidine
And they're the Green Team!

Going up to Mayday,
It felt very far away.
First we had the long race.
I felt pretty calm and picked up my pace.
I felt under the pump,
When I did the triple jump.
In high jump I went so high,
I could of touched the big blue sky.
In the 100m I felt so fast.
I crossed the finish line second, at last!
Versing the grown ups in the relay,
That was the last thing for the day.
