North Metro Music Festival
Our choir performed at the Northern Metro Music Festival at Hewitson Theatre on the 30th of October. Around 100-150 year 5/6 students (and some year 4s) performed.
We arrived at Hewitson Theatre at 6pm, an hour before the concert started. Once everyone had arrived we went into the backstage room, where we sat down in lines and giggled with excitement rushing through us. We were organised into our lines on stage and heard the bangs of the drums playing, everyone giggled quietly to help them calm down, and then the curtain rose and we could start singing. I felt rejoiced, the thought of singing with people my age, getting along and having an audience watching us made it all the better.
We learnt a bunch of new skills and ways to make our voices better, project our voices more and how to be a great choir. We learnt how to work together, sing in time and in harmony. It was a magnificent experience and if anyone is thinking about joining but is a bit worried they should not let fear get to them because it is a great experience, and you will achieve great things.
We would also like to give a special thanks to our choreography leaders, our choir teacher - Lisa Woods, and the backstage crew.

I am in the pom team at GPS and last Tuesday night we were invited to perform as a guest artist at the North Metro Music Festival. It was great fun and amazing to see Sophia as a host and the choir singing and dancing to their songs.
