Dear Parents,
The Feast of St. Francis of Assisi was on October 4th, and I find myself reflecting on the recent pilgrimage I undertook, journeying through places deeply connected to the life of this remarkable saint. Walking in his footsteps from the peaceful Hermitage of St. Francis to La Verna, where he received the stigmata, and finally to Assisi profoundly reminded me of the simplicity, humility, connection to nature, and deep faith that he embodied.
St. Francis lived a life that closely paralleled Jesus' teachings, with a heart full of compassion, a love for all creation, and a commitment to peace. His actions and words continue to resonate, reminding me of my own purpose as a Catholic school principal: to lead with love, serve with humility, and inspire with faith. Just as St. Francis sought to be an instrument of God's peace, we, too, are called to bring light and hope to those around us.
In these challenging times, may we each find the courage to live out St. Francis' prayer, sowing love, hope, and understanding in all we do and helping our children grow into the light of Christ’s love.
The Lord bless you and keep you.
The Lord let his face shine UPON YOU and be gracious to you.
The Lord look upon you kindly
And give you peace.
The Lord bless you!
AMEN

St. Fidelis' School Hosts the First LEGO League Competition on Thursday, October 17th
We are thrilled to announce that St. Fidelis' School will host the First LEGO League competition this Thursday. We are eager to welcome students from other schools to this exciting day of innovation, teamwork, and creativity.
Thank you to Mr. Frazzetto for his incredible dedication in organizing this event and preparing our students to compete. This event would not be possible without the enthusiasm and support of our wonderful parent volunteers, who will be taking on roles as supervisors, judges, and referees. Your commitment truly brings our community together.
Best of luck to all our amazing students participating in the competition. We can’t wait to see your hard work in action and celebrate the spirit of teamwork that makes St. Fidelis such a special place.
-Wonderful School Activity Day
A huge thank you to our GEM team of teachers for organizing an engaging cross-age day focused on Gratitude, Empathy, and Mindfulness. This day brought together and reinforced our children's weekly learning.
The Resilience Project is vital in supporting our student's social and emotional growth and fostering connections within our school community. Thank you to everyone involved for making this day a success.
I am writing to let you know that Miss Alex has informed me of her decision to resign, and she will not be returning in Term Four.
Miss Alex began her journey with St. Fidelis as the after-school program coordinator with TheirCare before joining us as a classroom teacher. Over the past few years, she has significantly contributed to our children and our school community.
To give her students an opportunity to say goodbye, Miss Alex will be at school this Tuesday, October 15th, from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. If any parents would like to say farewell to Miss Alex, you are warmly welcome to attend.
During the first two weeks of Term 4, students will have the option to wear summer or winter uniforms as the weather slowly transitions to warmer temperatures—not a mix of both. All children will be expected to wear full summer uniforms from Monday, October 21st. ‘No Hat, No Play.’ Please ensure your child has a school hat for outdoor play and activities. Uniforms can be ordered online from PSW.
The sun protection times from the Bureau of Meteorology tell you the time of day UV levels are forecast to reach three or higher. At these levels, sun protection is recommended for all skin types. In Victoria, UV levels regularly reach three or higher from mid-August to the end of April. As part of general SunSmart strategies, our school:
