2024 Music Program

Torquay Community House Tutoring

We are  a local community house located in Torquay.   We have been running a very successful low cost one on one tutoring program for a few years now.

We currently have a retired teacher with a wealth of knowledge who is ready to move on his current tutoring students at the end of the year. We therefore will have 3 places open for tutoring of secondary students next year on Thursday nights (4.00pm, 4.40pm & 5.20pm). He is able to tutor all secondary levels including year 11 & 12 and specialises in maths and chemistry. Tutoring is run in conjunction with the school term (we usually start one week later and finish up one week earlier). Cost is currently $10 per term, we may increase this slightly for 2024, but it would be minimal.

We are able to offer tutoring low cost as the tutors all volunteer their time. As a community house we are all about providing low cost accessible and inclusive programs for the local community!

If you have any students you think this could be beneficial for, please feel free to forward my email to their parents/guardians and ask them to contact me directly via email. I will be looking to fill these places by the end of the term, ready to start term 1 2024.

Education Perfect

SCSC’s launch of the digital platform ‘Education Perfect’ will support our student’s literacy and numeracy with a homework program in 2024 and onwards.

Their SURF teachers will support them to engage with this, which is well underway as a part of our headstart program with a school wide competition. With only a few days to go before the competition ends, we would love to celebrate our current leader board!
