RISE

Today our RISE (Reaching Independence through Support and Education) students welcomed their parents and Mrs Bennett to a final afternoon tea, to celebrate all the wonderful goals they have achieved throughout the year. Mrs Bennett thanked the wonderful staff; Mrs Rowe and Mrs Dolliver for their continued hard work in running this very successful program throughout the year.

Students learn various skills throughout the year, with a focus on developing independence and life skills whilst working towards individual and group goals. The program has regular off-campus learning opportunities such as bushwalking, grocery shopping, map reading and basic car maintenance workshops, as well as their regular cooking and meal preparation.

Parents got to enjoy some of the tasty treats cooked and served by the students today. It certainly was a very enjoyable afternoon tea with family and friends.

Year 11 Retreat Day

Our 2024 Year 11 cohort had a retreat day with Daniel de la Motte of Anchor Retreats today. The day began with a team building session. Three guest speakers addressed the students, sharing experiences of opportunity and challenges in their lives. The team ended the day with a bushwalk at Picket Hill and a picnic lunch with a view when the team arrived at the summit. The day was designed for the students to get to know their cohort for next year and provoke students' discernment for their calling or future vocation. It was also an opportunity for the group to deepen their faith through prayer, fellowship and meditation on scripture.
