Student Curriculum Materials (formerly ‘Booklists’) 2024

Over the coming weeks, every family will receive details about the curriculum materials that will be provided to your child in 2024. Once again parents will be asked to contribute towards the cost of supplies their children will have access to in the classroom throughout the year.

We have had wonderful support from our parent community in the past to support the ongoing costs of providing curriculum resources for all students across the school and appreciate your support into the future.

ICAS

At last week’s whole school assembly, we acknowledged all students who participated in the ICAS testing last term. We had a total of 62 students from years 3-6 compete this year and we are very proud of each and every one of them.

Students who undertake the ICAS test are ranked based on their percentile in each year level across every participating state (Australia) and country:

  • Top 1% of students receive a High Distinction
  • The next 10% of students receive a Distinction
  • The following 25% of students receive a Credit
  • The next 10% of students receive a Merit Certificate
  • All other students receive a Participation Certificate

At Buninyong Primary School, we had 6 distinctions, 18 credits, 14 merits and 54 participation awards across the areas of English, Writing, Mathematics, Digital Technologies, and Science.

Please see the photos in the attachment below for all students who competed and their awards.

Special mentions also go to:

· Talia T in year 3 who received Distinctions in all 3 areas that she competed in – English, Writing and Maths- well done, Talia!

· Edie L in year 5 and Kirtley S in year 4 who received a Distinction in English and Noah M in year 4 who received a Distinction in Maths- fantastic effort!

2023 School Magazine

A competition has been running throughout the term for students in years 3-6 to design the cover for this year's school magazine.

Mrs Noyce and Mrs Morgan were overwhelmed with entries and the standard was very high, which made the judging quite tricky!

Well done to all students who entered a design and congratulations to the follow students whose designs were successful:

We look forward to revealing these artists’ excellent designs in this year’s school magazine. Please see the information below as well as the recent Compass message for all the details on how to purchase your family’s copy.

Magazine sales

Thanks to those families who have already purchased a school magazine for 2023. These magazines make a great keepsake for families to remember the year that was.

This year we have pages from every class, memories from our specialist sessions, major events throughout the year and much more.
