Advance Elective
"For our Duke of Ed this year, we completed a 30km bush walk along the Great Southwest Walk. After weeks of practicing walking with weighted packs in Advance class, we packed our backpacks and headed down towards Nelson. Starting at Battersby’s, we walked roughly 7kms through hills until we reached our first campsite at Patterson’s which was where we stayed the night. After cooking dinner in our Trangia’s we set up our tents. The second day started after breakfast as we headed off for our 21km day. With many rests we made it to our second camp site. On our final day, we canoed from Donovan’s landing to sandy waterholes."
