Principal's Blog

8th December, 2023

Dear Parents, Carers, Staff, Students and Friends of Derinya,

What an incredible morning we had celebrating our annual Christmas breakfast. I was absolutely blown away by our communities generosity and thoroughly enjoyed coming together to celebrate the end of the year. Today’s assembly was magnificent with many achievements to celebrate. It was timely to reflect on how much is offered to the children and how they embrace this and give things their best shot even when outside their comfort zone. Many thanks goes to the Salvation Army who come and gather the donations and ensure these are distributed to children in need.

Well done year 1

A huge well done to our year 1 students on their stunning performance on Grandparents Day. It was wonderful to have so many grandparents visit us and celebrate the children and their learning.

Staffing news

It is with sadness but also our best wishes that we say goodbye to Mrs Megan Packham, Ms Sarah Vosper and Ms Tori Jackson who will be moving to teaching positions in the private system in 2024. I thank these wonderful teachers for their incredible work and wish them all the very best.
