Students studying the Arrowsmith Program are now well underway with their individual cognitive program. Using neuroplasticity, the Arrowsmith Program’s goal is to harness neuroplasticity to strengthen the weak cognitive areas that are the underlying sources of a range of learning deficits. Neuroplasticity is part of the language in the Arrowsmith Program. As students become more involved, you may hear use language such as mastery, accuracy, consistency and benchmark expectations. These terms are all part of the Arrowsmith classroom.

Mastery plays an important role in the Arrowsmith Program. Mastery criteria is built into each exercise to indicate progress in the exercise. Students are always working towards trying to master a unit, level or exercise. It has been wonderful to see many students achieving masteries, especially so early in the program. We look forward to seeing many more as the year progresses.
