Engaging in our Faith
Want to help out every now and then with the Vinnies Brekky Van on Sunday mornings?
Be a part of the new Parish/school team that cooks from 8 am- midday at Central station on a monthly basis. You don't have to commit to each month! It is a great thing for your children to see you do and they can be involved in some way from home too. All volunteers need to be over 18 years. There are some online forms that need to be done in order to proceed and a WWCC and police check. This can take time for busy parents which is why I am asking now! The dates we have been given specifically as a school team to fill are 22 September, 27th October and 1 December. So far, I have had 6 wonderful parents sign up but the more the merrier!

Christian Meditation
We have been trying to do Christian Meditation in our classrooms to continue the peaceful prayer that we started with the labyrinth. If you would like to do Christian meditation at home with your children there will be a Meditation Kit available for loan from Mrs Gray on Thursday mornings next term. Your family get to keep the Kit for a week and return it the following Thursday. Christian Meditation is a great way to prepare for a Sacrament or to do anytime with your family when things are getting a bit hectic. Just 5 minutes per day could make a huge difference to the peace of your home. Why not try it? Your children will show you how!
If anyone has old white sheets at home that they do not want can you email me asap on anne.gray1@dbb.catholic.edu.au ? I need them for Mother's Day.
Interested in becoming a Lifeline Volunteer?
Imagine being the light in someone's darkest moment. You can be that light by volunteering with Lifeline.
Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury Sydney is currently looking for volunteers interested in becoming Lifeline Crisis Supporters.
Our volunteers on our Crisis Support Line (13 11 14) and Text and Chat Crisis Support Service (0477 131 144) support help seekers to ensure that no person in Australia has to face their darkest moment alone.
Every day, Lifeline's national Crisis Support Service receives approximately 3,750 requests for help. That's almost 1.4 million requests for help each year, highlighting the urgent need for volunteers to join us in this crucial mission.
The service provides 24-hour, 7-days-a-week confidential support for anyone in crisis, or those supporting someone experiencing crisis. People from all backgrounds contact us about all kinds of life problems. Whatever their crisis, we are there for our Help Seekers when they have nowhere else to turn.
Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury Sydney is currently recruiting for the next intake of volunteer Telephone Crisis Supporters and Digital Crisis Supporters. Volunteers generously give their time, energy, and expertise to help Lifeline achieve its vision of an ‘Australia free of suicide’.
As your local Lifeline Centre, we are hoping to attract locals to join our next intake of Telephone Crisis Supporters volunteering out of our telephone centre at Gordon, starting August 2024.
As a Digital Crisis Supporter, volunteers can support someone in their moment of need from their homes, as an increasing number of help seekers reach out to Lifeline via text or online chat. If you are interested, please follow the link: Lifeline Crisis Supporters

Doubting Thomas
When Jeus appeared to his disciples again after his death, one disciple was not with them. He did not believe the disciples when they told him that Jesus had risen and that is the reason he became known as “doubting Thomas”. He explained that he would only believe them if he could see him with his own eyes.
Our belief in the Catholic Faith allows us to believe in what Jesus did and said even though we have not seen these things take place with our own eyes. We believe that during the Liturgy of the Eucharist at Mass, the bread and wine are transformed into the body and blood of Jesus Christ as it happened at the Last Supper.
We believe that Jesus is alive!
Let us pray…
Lord Jesus, Help us to remember the words of Thomas, “My Lord and my God”;
Help us to make these words our own prayer;
Help us to see you in the people we meet each day so that can grow closer to you.
Amen.
Liana Stella
