Principal's Message
End of Term One Message
As we approach the end of Term One, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the many blessings of the term.
This term has been filled with achievements, growth, and memorable experiences. Our students have shown dedication to their studies, participated enthusiastically in extracurricular activities, and demonstrated kindness and respect towards one another. I congratulate every student for their hard work and positive contributions to our Holy Family school community.
When I look back at the term calendar, it is easy to see that Holy Family students and teachers have been busily engaged in their learning and teaching. In the past 10 weeks our school community has been involved in: Kindy Best Start, Feast of Saint Brigid, Parent Information night, Meet the Teacher Interviews, Opening School Commissioning Liturgy, Social Justice “Rice Day”, Leadership Camp, Swimming Carnivals, Holy Week Prayer reflections, NAPLAN tests, SRC meetings, St Brigid’s group meetings, Open Days and Nights, Reconciliation, Cross Country Trials, Band, Strings, Wellbeing Week and Picnic Day, Soccer skills, SPARK – Gifted Enrichment Days, Family masses, Musical Showcases, CAPA “Aladdin Trouble: performance, Running Club, Coding Club and many, many more.
I would like to especially thank our wonderful staff who have been outstanding in creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment. Their commitment to excellence, creativity in teaching, and unwavering support for our students have been truly inspiring.
In speaking to children, parents and teachers, I think the two-week break will be gratefully enjoyed as a time for some rest, some recreation and a more relaxed daily schedule. I pray that every family gets some quality holiday family time together. We look forward to welcoming the children back to school for Term 2 on Tuesday 30 April.
Looking ahead, Term Two promises to be filled with exciting opportunities for learning, growth, and collaboration. We have exciting events, projects, and initiatives planned, and I am confident that together, we will continue to achieve great things. I have attempted to capture the important calendar events for Term 2 below.
SPARK - "Supporting Potential Among Remarkable Kids"
SPARK is a project set to cater for high ability and or gifted students within a domain that they have a proven record of achievement in. The project is called SPARK – Supporting Potential Among Remarkable Kids.
This week, five of our Stage 2 and 3 students participated in an engaging Maths Day filled with fun and thought-provoking activities at Prouille Catholic School, Wahroonga. From captivating math games to stimulating logic puzzles and open-ended tasks, this event has ignited curiosity and fostered critical thinking skills. This was a fantastic opportunity for students to explore the wonders of Mathematics in a dynamic and supportive environment. The collaboration was amazing!
Staff Development Day - Monday 29th April 2024
