eSmart Week

eSmart Week- 18th- 24th March

This week marks National eSmart Week and our theme this year is ‘Empowering Tomorrow’s Digital Citizens, Today’. This is a time to reflect on the importance of being proactive and responsible digital citizens, and to learn about new strategies to become safer online.

Below are some ideas for conversation topics that you can have with your child to continue the dialogue at home.

Digital Literacy: How to effectively use digital tools, platforms, and resources to access information, communicate, collaborate, and create content.

Digital Safety and Security: Educating about online threats such as cyberbullying, identity theft, scams, and privacy breaches, and providing them with strategies to protect themselves and their personal information online.

Critical Thinking and Media Literacy: Helping develop the ability to critically evaluate online content. Are all sources of information on the internet reliable? What makes something a reliable source of information on the internet?

Ethical and Responsible Use: Instilling values of digital citizenship, including respect for others, empathy, and responsible behaviour online.

Students in Foundation to Year 2 attended an online story time event to learn about being safe online. Take a look at the photos to see a glimpse of the session!
