Community Support

We are so grateful for the generous support of our community in providing treats for the Easter raffle. No less than 12 prizes to give away on our final assembly Thursday 28th March 2pm. Keep an eye out for tickets in bags this week.

NAPLAN

Year 3 and 5 students are officially half way through this year’s NAPLAN having completed writing and reading assessments. NAPLAN is used by our school to identify strengths in our system and opportunity for growth. The individual results do not define a student’s academic performance with our regular assessments readily used to guide teaching and learning programs. I am particularly proud of the way our students have approached this year’s NAPLAN, using it as an opportunity to test their working knowledge of core curriculum.

Simply Spectacular

2024’s State School Spectacular Team engaged in their first group training session at Mont Albert Primary School this week. A mixture of new and experienced members of the team, the rehearsal went perfectly to plan, with the instructors identifying Box Hill North as leaders of the group. We look forward to seeing their development in this space throughout the course of the year. Your first taste of what’s to come will open with assembly next week!

Cyber Safety Project

We continue to work closely with the Cyber Safety Project to best support the students of Box Hill North. Nothing has evolved as quickly as technology and the ever changing landscape presents many challenges not only for our students to navigate, but for our families, staff and community. Each week, teachers lead age-appropriate lessons that are carefully designed to upskill our students for the safe and effective use of technology. It is equally important that we as adults keep up-to-date with current research and certain things to be well informed about. To support families, the Cyber Safety Project offer regular webinars to the families of Box Hill North. The recording of last week’s session on ‘Protecting Children Online’ led by Kristi McVee is currently available. The insights that Kristi provides are invaluable to ensuring that we all do our part in the protection of our children.  You can find the link to the session here.
