Matilda 

Term 1 School Values Award 2024

 

It is my pleasure to announce that the recipient of the Term 1 School Values Award is Matilda Yao. 

 

Matilda is a highly valued member of Foundation B. She comes to school each day with an eagerness to grow as an independent learner and a positive attitude to make the most out of every opportunity.

In class, Matilda approaches tasks with both care and perseverance. Matilda strives for excellence in all she does and we applaud Matilda in her personal drive to always get the best out of herself.

At school Matilda demonstrates responsibility on a daily basis, most noticeably in her desire to take responsibility for her own learning. In the classroom she is focused and ready to learn and enthusiastically asks questions to deepen her understanding.

 Emma

Term 1 School Values Award 2024

It is my pleasure to announce that the recipient of the Term One School Values Award, on behalf of the Grade 1/2 unit, is Emma Greedy. 

Emma is a highly valued member of 1/2S and our wider school community. Each and everyday, Emma exemplifies our school values of Respect & Care, Responsibility, Inclusion, Tolerance & Understanding and Excellence in all aspects of her schooling, making her an exceptional role model. 

Emma should be applauded for the way in which she embodies respect and courtesy towards all members of our school community. She arrives at the classroom each morning with a beaming, bright smile and always politely greets her teachers, and peers highlighting her beautiful manners. With a caring nature, Emma can often be seen lending a kind, helping hand to others without expecting any praise. The way she consistently models inclusion through her ability to work positively and collaboratively with all peers cannot be flawed. 

Determined, conscientious and dependable, Emma encompasses responsibility and should be commended for the way she embraces learning opportunities with diligence. She brings to the classroom a high level of maturity demonstrated through her attentive listening and independent approach to learning tasks. A high achiever, she approaches all learning opportunities with enthusiasm and a growth mindset which allows her to strive to achieve her personal best in all endeavours. Emma never shies away from challenges and proactively applies feedback to improve her learning. Her exemplary resilience and curiosity are a testament to the wonderful learner Emma is.

Finn

Term 1 School Values Award 2024

It is my pleasure to announce that the recipient of the Term 1 School Values Award in 3/4 is Finn Morrison.

Finn embodies the essence of a role model at our school. His commitment to caring for others and his dedication to excellence shine through in every task he undertakes.

In every setting, Finn exemplifies respect and consideration, whether it's during learning sessions, transitions, assemblies, or outings. He treats both staff and fellow students with equal respect, demonstrating full-body active listening and setting a positive example for others to follow. Finn's responsible behaviour extends beyond mere participation; he actively guides his peers toward making the right decisions and upholding classroom expectations and school values.

Moreover, Finn's compassion and willingness to assist others in their learning tasks are truly commendable. He readily lends a helping hand to classmates, showing patience, tolerance, and understanding as he supports them in their academic endeavours. Finn's collaborative spirit makes him an invaluable asset in the classroom, where he consistently fosters an inclusive environment and ensures that all students feel welcomed and supported.

Furthermore, Finn consistently demonstrates responsibility and excellence in all aspects of his academic journey. He makes thoughtful choices that positively impact his peers and the learning environment; consistently striving to contribute to a positive atmosphere. Even when faced with uncertainty, Finn approaches challenges with determination and respect, showcasing his unwavering commitment to personal growth and academic success.

Audrey 

Term 1 School Values Award 2024

I am honoured to announce the Grade 5/6 School Values Award recipient for Term 1 is, Audrey Neilson.

 

Audrey is a wonderful role model within the Dana Street community. She is a caring and thoughtful student who gives everything her all. She endeavours to make sure all her peers are cared for and are having an amazing time at school. 

 

Audrey has embraced her leadership role of Martin House Captain this year. She understands what makes a good leader and works hard on being the best leader she can be. A shining example of Audrey’s leadership skills being on display was at our recent whole school Athletics Day. Audrey demonstrated true determination to not only excel with her own achievements, but to lift up her classmates and everyone around her to try their best. 

Audrey approaches her learning tasks with a growth mindset. She shows respect to teachers and peers at all times. She checks in with teachers and asks for feedback to improve the quality of her work. Audrey is a fantastic classmate, always including and displaying a positive outlook in any situation.
