Message from the Principal
Dear Parents,
At the conclusion of Term One, I couldn’t be prouder of our wonderful school, our amazing staff and our incredible students.
This term has afforded us the opportunity to set ourselves up for a positive year of growth and learning. Day by day, our classrooms have remained calm and focussed, and our staff have regularly commented on how well our students have transitioned into the year. I feel the year will continue to be positive for all of us.
I have particularly enjoyed seeing our Foundation students rapidly adapt to the daily requirements of being a primary school student, which is no mean feat at their age! Despite the big changes, it has been a pleasure welcoming them into school each morning with their big smiles and their undeniable enthusiasm for learning. I know they will continue to grow and impress us all.
Sadly, a couple of staff are leaving us. Tyler Smith has been successful in gaining her dream job as a high school music teacher. This week has been very emotional for her, but we wish her well in the future. Maya Richards will be her replacement. Leanne Relouw has also gained employment at another school. I wish Leanne well in the future and thank her for her time at Dana Street. We are currently finalising a replacement for Leanne and I will let you all know as soon as possible.
Thank you to the many, many families who donated to our annual Easter Raffle. The school has made a total of $1904 dollars, which is our highest total ever!! Half of this money will be donated to the Good Friday Appeal and the other half used to purchase much needed sporting equipment for our students. The Junior School Council are looking forward to coordinating these purchases next term.
Over the course of the next two weeks, I do hope that you are able to take the time to be with family and those who are closest to you. For those who celebrate it, have a happy Easter.
See you all next term.
Ryan 😊
