Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
Students have started Term 2 with a positive attitude, and they are ready to make the most of the opportunities coming their way. All year levels have a busy calendar this term, with a range of academic, well-being, sporting, artistic and musical activities coming up.
ANZAC Day is a key event on the College calendar as our students and staff acknowledge the sacrifices made by Australian and New Zealand Armed Forces personnel over many years around the globe. We held our own ANZAC Day ceremony on Wednesday 24th April and then joined the Bairnsdale Community on Thursday 25th April. Thank you to everyone representing the College as we commemorated ANZAC Day.
'Student Pathways' take front and centre in Term 2. Senior students engage in discussions about their future subject selections. It is important that students and their support networks are aware of the pathways and careers supports that are available within the College and beyond. Our College careers team – Jaclyn Powell (Years 8 and 9), Angela Wren and Vicky Halford (Years 10, 11 and 12) are available to assist with any questions you may have.
In week 3 there will be an information showcase for those families with students in Grade 6 moving into Secondary education in 2025.
In Term 2 our Year 9 students and their families are invited to engage in the Morrisby Career profiling process. This includes an online survey and an online careers discussion with a specialist Melbourne consultant.
A very big word of thanks to families for the efforts you are making to ensure that students are wearing their school uniform with pride. With colder days on the way please continue to maintain our high standard of uniform.
Our College staff are proud to partner with families to provide a safe and empowering environment for all students.
Kindest,
Tony Roberts
