Principal's News

Mr Brian Anderson

Principal

Dear Parents & Friends of St Francis Xavier,

I hope you continue to be filled with the joy of the Easter season. As we continue to celebrate this sacred time.

Reflections on Easter Season

Since our return to school after the long weekend, I have been reminding the children of the significance of the Easter season, which extends for 50 days. Personally, these past 50 days have been profoundly joyful for me. Returning to St Francis Xavier and reconnecting with the children, staff, and parents has been a true blessing. I am filled with gratitude for the opportunity to serve as principal of St Francis Xavier.

During our recent staff development day, I had the privilege of sharing my experiences from my time in the Holy Land last year, particularly focusing on my time in Jerusalem and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. It was a deeply moving experience, and I look forward to sharing more about my pilgrimage with you throughout the year. Let us also remember to keep the Holy Land in our prayers, especially during these challenging times.

Enrolments

I have had the pleasure of interviewing numerous families over the past few weeks, and it is heartening to see the continued interest in joining our St Francis Xavier community. Prospective parents often cite our school's excellent reputation in the local area, our consistently strong NAPLAN results, and our high levels of pastoral care as reasons for wanting to be a part of SFX. This reputation is a testament to the hard work and dedication of every staff member, student, and parent who contributes to our school community. When speaking with prospective families, I emphasise the spirit of St Francis and our Ursuline heritage, which continue to guide us in fostering a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Open Morning Recap

Our recent Open Morning was a resounding success, with families enjoying a first-hand look at the diverse learning opportunities available at St Francis Xavier. From phonics and reading lessons to music, P.E., science, and more, our classrooms were bustling with activity. It was a joy to see children and parents alike engaged and enthusiastic about learning.

We look forward to continuing our open classrooms later in Term 2.

Term Planner

Today the Term 2 Planner will be shared with families to provide you with a comprehensive overview of the upcoming term. Our teachers have been working diligently to prepare engaging and enriching experiences for your children, and we are excited for all that the next term holds.

As we approach the upcoming break, I encourage you to take this time to rest and rejuvenate with your families. May you enjoy the slower pace and cherish the moments spent together.

With warm regards,

Brian

Upcoming Events

I would like to remind you that we will be celebrating Grandparents Day at St Francis Xavier on Friday, July 26th, the feast of St Anne and St Joachim, grandparents of Jesus. This special occasion has always been a highlight for our school community, and I encourage you to mark your calendars accordingly.
