Citizens of the Term 2024
Prep Citizen of the Term 1 2024
Congratulations Olive
I am so pleased to announce that the citizen of the term for Foundation is Olive. Olive enters the classroom each morning with a big smile on her face, ready to start the day and brings this positive ‘can do’ attitude into everything she does. She is a patient, calm and friendly student who is always kind to those around her. Olive is often seen welcoming others into her games and activities to ensure that no one is left out, including new students to our school. Olive is always thinking about how to help and look after others, and this is a wonderful example of how she genuinely demonstrates our school value of community. Olive shows care in the way that she is kind to her peers both in the classroom and playground. She plays fairly and is friendly to all others at school. I can always count on Olive to be looking out for her peers, noticing if they are hurt or upset and trying to help. Olive also shows care to her learning in the classroom, making sure that she has listened to the instructions carefully and then given her best effort at the task, often being seen helping others once she has finished. Olive consistently shows respect towards others and our school. She looks after our resources, using them as directed, then ensuring that they are packed up at the end of each session and put back away. Olive consistently respects both classroom and school rules and uses her manners when speaking to both peers and adults, helping to make our school and safe and happy place to be. Olive has shown excellence this term in the way that she has thrived in both literacy and numeracy learning activities. Olive has impressed me with her mathematical knowledge and ability to problem solve, being invited to share some work with Mr Garner as well! She has worked hard both at school and at home to learn her high frequency words and has achieved wonderful success in learning these and knowing her letters and sounds.
Congratulations Olive, I am proud of your positive attitude to learning and all you have achieved this term. You should be extremely proud of the way in which you have started your schooling at BNPS. You are such a worthy recipient of the Foundation Unit Citizen of the Term, keep being you!

Cruz takes on feedback from his teachers and is always willing to teach others what he has learnt when they are having trouble. He takes lots of pride in the work that he produces and always achieves his very best. Cruz not only excels in his class work, but achieves at a high standard in his specialist subjects, with a very keen interest in sports.

5/6 Citizen of the Term 1 2024
Congratulations Jobe
Jobe is a friendly, enthusiastic, kind and unassuming member of the 5/6 team.
Mrs. Lockyer and I are so pleased to recognise the qualities that make him a worthy recipient of the 5/6 Citizen of the Term award for Term 1. Jobe has settled into 5/6 with ease, He demonstrates community-mindedness and maturity in his daily interactions with staff and peers.
Jobe effortlessly embodies our school values. He speaks with respect, listens attentively, and shows care in various ways. A recent example of his compassion for others was when Mrs Lockyer was injured. Jobe, without hesitation, collected and carried things for her, ensuring she had a chair to rest on in the classroom and during yard duty.
We both admire Jobe's initiative. He frequently volunteers for tasks such as cutting worksheets, handing out, or packing up equipment. Jobe's proactive nature means he often completes these tasks without us even noticing simply because he sees what needs to be done.
He is an interested learner who engages in class discussions and regularly offers his ideas. This term, he was active in his group's DASH project. He showed interest in other group members' ideas and encouraged others to contribute to the tasks to be completed.
Jobe's positive influence, through his actions and qualities, have a significant impact on our school community. His peers respect him, and his friends value his friendship. We are excited to see how Jobe's leadership skills will continue to develop and positively influence our school community throughout the year.
Mrs Lockyer and Mrs Macdonald.
