Term 4

As we finish up the school year, it is the time to reflect on the highlights of this term and celebrate the achievements of our Lower Primary students throughout 2025.
Student wellbeing has continued to sit at the heart of everything we do. Our programs supported students in building readiness for learning, developing self-regulation skills and embracing the expectations of “Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be a Learner, and Be Safe”. These expectations shaped our daily routines and interactions, helping students grow socially and academically. The effort students have shown in following these expectations was a standout over the term. It was wonderful to hear students share how they demonstrate these expectations during circle times and assemblies, and even better to see classmates and staff celebrating these achievements together.
What a fantastic success the Bushwahzee Bush Dance was! It was truly a community event, bringing students, families and staff together for dancing, laughter, and the old favourite, sausages in bread with or without sauce! Seeing parents, siblings, and grandparents joining in the bush dancing was a highlight.
Jets Gymnastics brought extra bounce to our term with two full days of movement and gymnastic ability. The specialist coaches ran fun, active sessions that helped students build skills, grow their confidence and enjoy trying something new. These workshops tied in and reinforced the skills learnt in our Gymnastics unit and created an energetic end to the term.
The end of the year always brings the excitement of transition activities and this year has been no exception. Our new 2026 Prep students, and students joining us from other schools had the chance to explore the campus, meet their teachers, and play and learn alongside new friends. Their smiles said it all! We can’t wait to welcome these curious little people and their families to Concord next year.
Our students moving to Upper Primary also had the chance to visit the Bundoora Campus and spend some time in their future classrooms. It is an exciting step, and we saw these students’ confidence grow with each visit.
Another highlight was our Farewell Assembly, where we gathered to recognise the effort of all our Lower Primary learners and formally say goodbye to those moving to Upper Primary, or on to new schools. We are extremely proud of Ahmed, Isaac, Ismail, Phoenix, Roxy, Tristan, Abdul, Alex, Kai, Nathan, Mohammad Ridha, Xavier, Armaan, Atahan, Cynthia, Oliver and Rayaleh. We congratulate them and wish them every success as they step into the new challenges that 2026 will bring. Your friends and teachers will miss you.
To finish off the term, each planning team enjoyed a special celebration. LPA, LPB and LPC went bowling and Bounce, by all reports it was “awesome!” LPE, LPF and LPG had a fantastic time at Inflatable World. The Grade 1s from LPH, LPI, LPJ and LPK headed off to the Aquarium, while the Prep students in those classes enjoyed bringing their teddies along for a Teddy Bears’ Picnic. These fun experiences were the perfect way to wrap up the year.
Lower Primary students also loved visiting the Discovery Centre for some festive fun. They made Christmas decorations, explored the magical snow-themed Mile Room, and took creative green-screen Christmas photos in the movie making room. Everyone got into the Christmas spirit, and students cannot wait to show their families the special photos they created.
As always, a big pat on the back to all the Lower Primary students for their kindness, cooperation and commitment to learning this term, and over the year. Congratulations on all that you have achieved.

LPA, LPB and LPC enjoyed an exciting visit to the Discovery Centre to celebrate the end of a great year. During their visit, they had the opportunity to create fun Christmas-themed photos using the green screen, they explored the festive Christmas room and took part in some craft activities. It was a wonderful hands on experience that added extra joy to our end of year learning.
LPD, LPE & LPG Excursion to Inflatable World
Last week, the LPD, LPE and LPG classes set off on an exciting adventure to Inflatable World, and what a fantastic day it turned out to be! Students were eager to explore the giant inflatable playground filled with slides, ladders, climbing walls and hidden tunnels just waiting to be discovered. From the moment we arrived, everyone embraced the challenge of trying new things. Whether it was climbing a little higher, sliding a little faster, or crawling through tunnels they’d never tried before, students showed bravery and teamwork. It was wonderful to see so many step outside their comfort zones and cheer each other on.
After all that bouncing, climbing and exploring, we enjoyed a well-earned lunch of hot chips and chicken nuggets, which was definitely a highlight for many! The fun continued with an afternoon of dancing, movies, LEGO, colouring and quiet rest time, giving everyone a chance to recharge after such an active morning.
It was an energetic and memorable excursion for all. Well done to our amazing students for their enthusiasm and adventurous spirit!

Prep Teddy Bears Picnic
The Prep students from LPH, LPI, LPJ and LPK had a wonderful time at their Teddy Bears Picnic this term. The morning began with each student introducing their teddy, followed by a cheerful teddy parade, photo wall fun and music and movement activities including Rock-a-Bye Bear, the Wiggles’ bear call and We’re Going on a Bear Hunt. The students especially enjoyed playing with their teddies on the parachute before heading out for recess.
After the break, the children listened to The Teddy Bears’ Picnic and then moved through a series of teddy-themed rotation activities. These included teddy toast making, Feed the Teddy, bear ball toss and a range of creative tasks such as Teddy Dress Ups, Teddy Bear Profile making and decorating their own teddy-themed bag. All of their creations were sent home to share with families.
The picnic lunch was a lovely highlight of the day, with students relaxing on picnic mats, enjoying their lunch and listening to teddy-themed music. In the afternoon, the students chose from calm and engaging activities including watching Paddington, reading teddy books, exploring teddy sensory trays or enjoying snacks such as popcorn, teddy tots, fairy bread and icy poles. It was a joyful and memorable celebration that brought the four Prep classes together for a very special day.
Physical Education
To finish off the year with energy and excitement, our students took part in a fantastic Jets Gymnastics incursion! We were lucky to have skilled coaches visit us and guide the students through a range of engaging and fun activities. Throughout the session, students had the opportunity to showcase the body balances they have been learning this term, as well as try new challenges demonstrated by the coaches. They enjoyed practising different balance activities, having a go at assisted tuck rolls, flips, and wrapping up the session with lively parachute games that had everyone smiling. It was a wonderful way to celebrate students’ hard work, build confidence, and enjoy movement together. A big thank you to Jets Gymnastics for such a memorable experience! Remember to be active and have fun.

The Aquarium
Our recent excursion was a wonderful highlight of the term and a memorable way to finish the year. The day began with a bus ride into the city, where we arrived at the aquarium. We had morning tea on the bus before heading inside, where we were warmly greeted by Catherine, our guide for the day. We visited the impressive central tank, home to many colourful fish, before meeting the resident crocodile who happened to be enjoying a shower. Students were delighted to discover turtles, seahorses, jellyfish and clownfish. Onr of the favourite moments of the day was the penguins during their feeding time. The underwater tunnels were a major highlight, giving students an exciting view of sharks, stingrays, large sea turtles and many other fascinating sea creatures swimming overhead. A special hands-on experience allowed students to touch a starfish and closely examine shark eggs, sparking lots of curiosity and conversation. We are very grateful to Catherine, who guided us throughout the experience and shared so many engaging facts about marine life. After our sea life adventure, we travelled to Fitzroy Gardens for a relaxing picnic lunch in the sunshine. We were visited by some mischievous ducks who seemed very interested in our food, much to the students’ amusement! The children enjoyed time playing in the playground and exploring the open space together. Before returning to school, we gathered for a final group photo capturing the joy and excitement of a truly wonderful day. It was a fantastic excursion filled with learning, discovery, and happy memories to end the year.
Performing Arts
Bushwahzee
Lower Primary and the Bushwahzee Band presented the Bush Cabaret to our school community. Families and friends enjoyed an engaging evening that showcased what students had learned throughout the day, including bush dancing and a selection of songs about Australia. Thank you to our Lower Primary staff for helping make the event such a success.
From all of us at Lower Primary, we wish you a safe, joyful and relaxing holiday season with your family and friends. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in 2026 for another year of belonging, connection, and growth.
