Our Christmas Dinner was the perfect celebration of a successful and rewarding semester in the Boarding House. Prepared by our trusty and capable chefs, Josh and Joel, the meal was outstanding—beautifully presented, full of festive spirit, and enjoyed by everyone. The Kris Kringle that followed was an absolute highlight, brilliantly run by our Captains, with a memorable entrance by “Mr and Mrs Claus,” who bore a striking resemblance to a couple of very enthusiastic Year 11s ... Isla and Clive perhaps? The laughter and noise in the room captured exactly what this time of year is all about, celebrating together. Our boarders capped off a wonderful year and they should all be proud of giving the opportunities at College a go.
Macdonald House can be particularly proud, taking out the 2025 Boarding House Cup for a second-year running. Congratulations Mac House.
This celebration also gave us an opportunity to acknowledge the outstanding start made by our Boarding House Captains, Finn and Pepper. Their leadership and positivity have made a noticeable impact.
Importantly, I would like to recognise our dedicated staff who have cared for our boarders in 2025 - our MODs, nursing, maintenance, cleaning, and kitchen teams. And a special thank you goes to Dennis Dawson, finishing his time with us after years of care, support, and countless classic FM-filled drives.
As we head into the summer break, we hope that everyone enjoys reconnecting with family and friends, recovering after a busy year, and re-energising for a strong and successful 2026.
Wishing all families a joyful summer break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on February 1st at 3pm for our annual Boarding Community Afternoon Tea.
Best wishes,
Andrew and the Boarding Team
In the final week, both Macdonald and Spears House enjoyed one of our most cherished end-of-year traditions: decorating gingerbread made with care by our wonderful House Mother, Lise Lowe.
Lise’s hard work, creativity, and generosity were on full display, with each beautifully baked piece ready for the boarders to add their own festive flair.
The girls embraced the opportunity to personalise their gingerbread, turning each one into a unique creation. Laughter, colour, and Christmas cheer filled the room as icing, sprinkles, and sweets found their way onto carefully designed masterpieces—many of which were promptly enjoyed and eaten with great delight.
We are incredibly grateful to Lise for the time and effort she puts into creating these moments. Traditions like this enrich our Boarding House community and remind us of the warmth, comfort, and sense of belonging that our house mothers help foster every day.
