Wellbeing

While our school doors are not offically open, our community has already begun to grow and I can't wait for the 2026 school year to begin.

Over recent months, it has been a privilege to connect with so many of you through one-on-one family interviews. These conversations have been invaluable in helping us understand your child, learning about their strengths, interests, cultures and any support they may need to thrive. Your partnership helps us build a school where every child is seen supported and valued from day one.

One of the highlights of our school journey, was our Transition Afternoon, where students had the opportunity to meet their 2026 teacher and classmates. It was wonderful to welcome students onsite for the day and to see new friendships forming, students smiling, and confidence growing as they began to picture themselves as part of our school community. For many students, this first connection is an important step in reducing anxiety, building a sense of belonging, and feeling excited about the year ahead. They help children feel safe, seen, and secure — which we know is essential for learning and wellbeing.

As we head into the summer holidays, we encourage families to enjoy a balance of rest, play and conversations about starting school. You might talk with your child about the friends they met, their teacher, or what they are looking forward to most. Keeping these conversations calm and positive can help build excitement and reassurance. We encourage you to continue to read our Social Story with your child.

The holidays are also a wonderful opportunity to support wellbeing through shared experiences. Simple activities like visiting local parks, going to the beach, exploring nature, reading together, or attending local community events can help strengthen connections.  For me personally, the holiday break provides an opportunity to spend time doing some of the things I love.  I am looking forward to spending quality time with my loved ones and friends, travelling with my husband in our caravan, reading books, enjoying some live music and taking time to relax and recharge with a visit to the Peninsula Hot Springs.

We are so excited to begin this journey with you and to officially welcome our students into their new learning environment on Thursday 29th January 2026.

Wishing all families a safe and restful holiday break and look forward to seeing you in the new year.
